Washington (CNN)Embattled White House national security adviser Michael Flynn resigned Monday night, two sources tell CNN. His departure came just after reports surfaced the Justice Department warned the Trump administration last month that Flynn misled administration officials regarding his communications with the Russian ambassador to the United States and was potentially vulnerable to blackmail by the Russians.

Much shrieking and gaiety going on over at the Left. They think they have thrown a roadblock upon President Trump. They haven’t. Flynn will be useful in other ways and a replacement is already in the works.
Sounds like Trump.
Yeah, it’s too bad, but it was self inflicted. He was stupid to lie to Pence about the call. This is a character flaw that thankfully was exposed early enough to get him out before he created a much larger problem.
Don’t really get the ‘blood in the water’ meme. Not the first, not the last. Potus made the right call again.
In his resignation letter he admitted to giving Vice-President and others in administration incomplete information (lied) and should have been more forthcoming.
NOOOOOOO!!!!!
Don’t accept the resignation please don’t give the victory to the left. Please.
I don’t think Trump’s hand was forced here by the anti-Trumpers - there’s so much noise and hysteria in the establishment and media right now that the Flynn controversy was barely registering beyond the Beltway. There must have been genuine concern in the administration that Flynn could be compromised by the Russians.
You can't be part of a President's administration and lie to that administration; that's common sense.
Aint that something? Trump doesn’t have his team in place, so he’s at the mercy of individuals from previous hostile administrations, Obama and Bush to approve his people. This should not stand.
He misled (lied) to the administration officials apparently. Probably if he was upfront with it all it probably wouldn’t have been a big deal. I guess his coverup was worse than the crime (non-crime in this case)
Lesson to Trump appointees — don’t lie to the boss.
Yes because Trump had nothing to do with the appointment so he’ll fix it.
Wait, maybe Trump had this planned all along. He wanted Flynn to resign. He was just faking out the media. Yeah, Bannon and Preibus just gave him bad advice but now he’s going to really get involved and make the right choice. Flynn wasn’t his guy, he was the media’s guy.
Denial is fun!
That’s a shame, and a hell of a way to go.
However, if he’s going to lie to Pence and thereby President Trump, he had to go.
Hopefully this serves as a strong message to others that absolute honesty and loyalty will be required job criteria in this cabinet.
I guess we’ll have to wait for it to show up on “acceptable” blogs before some people will believe it.
Otherwise, it’s fake news.
Oliver North to replace him! Or sarah Palin!
You seem to forget who Trump is and what he’s made of.
Given the political capital spent and credibility on the line and this happens. This might be enough to keep a scotus seat empty? I’ve feared a few republicans have been hoping for an excuse.
Justice Dept: Flynn “Could be subject to blackmail.”
The kerfuffle with Pence is minor compared to this.
