...Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson, Misty Copeland and Steph Curry...

Who the hell is Misty Copeland? As far as the Rock and Curry are concerned, they can go pound sand.

Mr Johnson said:

“His words were divisive and lacking in perspective,” Johnson said of Plank. “Inadvertently creating a situation where the personal political opinions of UA’s partners and its employees were overshadowed by the comments of its CEO.”

Looks like he was totally mischaracterized by the headline.

Now that some of Hollywood is being bought up by Chinese multi-billionaire Wang Jianlin (est. $32b), perhaps someone should whisper in his ear that celebrities mouthing off about politics could be “bad for business”, and that it would be legal for him to include STFU contract clauses in their contracts.

Jianlin currently owns Dick Clark Productions (Golden Globes and the Miss America pageant), the AMC movie theater chain as well as Carmike Cinemas, Legendary Entertainment movie studio, and the company that stages Ironman Triathlons.

And Jianlin wants so much more. He even offered to buy Viacom and Paramount, but they turned him down.

Importantly, he could also be very influential to the other companies that own large parts of Hollywood, that it would be to their advantage as well to get their stars to “put a sock in it”, if they wanted to keep working.

Trump has been divisive, huh?

Well, the RATS define divisive as “anyone who disagrees with us on anything.” They can’t POSSIBLY be divisive, in their own teeny minds. Of course, it’s impossible to AGREE with the RATS because nothing they believe makes the slightest sense (for example, “Let’s let terrorists into the country! Yay!”) ... so. Yeah. Guess we’re divisive. Live with it, idiots.

As for Hollywood. I’m all in with boycotting them. Don’t give them a dime. Don’t go and see their movies (which generally suck anyway). Don’t rent new movies. Let them make their money off their own kind - oh, wait... most of THEM don’t work and just illegally download movies anyway... sorry, there, Hollywood. Must suck to be YOU.

Better yet - let California secede and take the whole colony of dimwitted socialist actors with them. They can make Judd Apatow President ... oh, wait... I forgot... it’s Hollywood, so it would have to be some raving moonbat lesbian... Hmm. On second thought... it IS Hollywood, so Judd Apatow could declare he self-identifies as a raving moonbat lesbian this week and be President of Commufornia after all...

/morning rant. Need more coffee (or maybe not). :-)

I don't know about these company spokesmen, but if I was an investor in the company I wouldn't be thrilled about the CEO's public comments myself. Just make your damn product and sell it to as many people as possible. Alienating half your prospective customers doesn't do your shareholders any favors.

Bullshit. He was talking about Trump's business friendly policies and as a CEO those comments were completely appropriate! Since when in the hell did it become forbidden to share any positive reaction to a President's policies?

Read the comment, it was actually well thought out and he explained his position rather well. The headline is sensationalizing it.

""His words were divisive and lacking in perspective," Johnson said of Plank."

This, in response to Plank saying that a pro-business president was an asset for the country. Yeah...not seeing this as well thought out - just the same reflexive boiler-plate liberals have been reciting ever since Trump came to prominence in the presidential race.

I didn't say they weren't appropriate. I'm simply reflecting a variation of some age-old wisdom here:

Business owners of all political stripes should just shut up and produce what they're in business to produce.

And when you total up the combined intelligence of all the athletes and celebs piling on Plank, you get less than a box of Rocks.

Sounds like Johnson has more business sense than the CEO.

The only thing he forgot to mention was the company's customers.

Hitler adored muslims to the extent that his “Mein Kampf” is based on the koran; some of his best SS troops were all muslim.

Hatred is what bound them. Hatred of the inferior races: Hitler and his Aryan master race: the Jews and other inferior sorts like blacks; Arab muslims are the master race: the Jews and blacks - fit only to be slaves.

“I think he’s highly passionate,” the 44-year-old executive said Tuesday. “To have such a pro-business President is something that is a real asset for the country. People can really grab that opportunity. “He wants to build things,” he added.

“He wants to make bold decisions and be really decisive. I’m a big fan of people that operate in the world of publish and iterate versus think, think, think, think, think. So there’s a lot that I respect there.”

Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank says Donald Trump is ‘real asset for the country’

These morons are speaking out against this? And some FReepers actually respect their opinions?
