Now that Trump won which proves that their propaganda efforts are failing we can expect to see large corporations such a Amazon begin to corral users into more secure echo chambers.
I’m saying goodbye to Amazon.
This is a shame. I like the forums there to get info on movies and TV...
That’s sad, it was a good place to call out the morons of Hollywood on all of their infantile biases. I really can’t wait for all of the social media companies to collapse in a heap of dust, their products, excepting the President’s excellent tweets, are otherwise worthless.
“IMBD” (Title) — isn’t that Buck Rodgers’ little robot chum?
I think you meant IMDB...
Newspapers have already done this. They sued to allow anonymous commentary, and it was a good way to see how real people felt on both sides. Now they demand you comment on their fake news articles ONLY THROUGH FACEBOOK with your real name. Shuts everyone right up.
There is a recent expose of pedohpiles in a major paper and I have info that could maybe help save a kid or two. I wanted to post a comment anonymously. I cannot. The papers lie and say it’s because of vitriol and vicious comments. Bull. They can edit. It’s shutting down all opposition to their propaganda, but it also affects other subjects.
If this is the same as the Message Boards, it will be a loss. I use the message boards to get additional perspectives beyond the official reviews. There are sometimes flame wars, but so be it. This will be a significant reduction in available information and viewpoints.
With Bezos’ latest earnings performance I’m doubting that he’s gonna continue effing up a good thing. Ima hang for a little while longer. They don’t rape so hard as DirectV.
The answer is...
"When is Amazon planning on creating a knock-off site of IMDB?"
I’ll assume that intelligent, conservative, Christian, moral users were posting their thoughts about immoral, sophomoric, violent, anti-Christian, progressive-pushing, queer-pushing TV and movies.
Yep, Hollyweird is upset that everyone doesn’t like their propaganda - and the IMDB message boards do have a fair amount of conservative push-back.
Put your browser in Private Browsing mode, set up a new FaceBook account with fake info, post anyway. Problem solved.
250,000,000 users and Amazon says it doesn’t provide a beneficial service? What rot! If it didn’t provide a user benefit, a quarter billion people wouldn’t be using it. Business economics 1a. Suggest Bezos enroll at his local adult continuation high school and learn a little about how markets work. Smile smile smile. (And I’ve never even heard of the service - ha! But if so many people use it-— it’s delivering a lot of user benefits !)
I think you’re right on that. I never contribute to the boards, but I frequently check them to get information from “real people” about a movie, TV show, or actor I might be interested in. I’m a fan of “Gunsmoke,” and there are contributors on that board who are not only very knowledgeable about the show, but about the Western genre in general and the history of the West.
I did a long time ago.
Yeah this really sucks. It’s been a staple of their entire site since the beginning. Just lame.
Someone will "pick up" this audience by creating an alternative forum/website.
Once the alternative is up and running, and begins to flourish, Amazon itself will be at the mercy of it.
Kind of like what Jimmy Carter did when he gave away the Panama Canal on Sept 7th, 1977.
The canal didn't go away.. only America's ownership and control of it did.
This is insane. Those boards are useful for discussion and asking questions pertaining to shows/movies and actors. Without this board, many will be left in the dark with nowhere to find answers.
I like to run old movies and TV shows through to see what I can learn.
