It all started with a green water balloon.
Now, five teens — three 18-year-olds and two 17-year-olds — face misdemeanor charges of malicious mischief after Mount Pleasant police say they threw water balloons at protesters Monday afternoon.
According to an incident report from the Mount Pleasant Police Department, a green object was tossed from a passenger window of a gold Ford F-150 truck and hit a woman who was protesting outside of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham's Mount Pleasant office, 530 Johnnie Dodds Blvd.
Martha Rhodes, 41, said she was one of the protesters hit by a water balloon. At the time, Rhodes said she was holding a sign that read "Bigotry destroys democracy."
"I didn't honestly realize it was a water balloon." Rhodes said Tuesday. "I was a little bit shaken up. One of my concerns has been the normalization of behavior that we wouldn't have found acceptable until now."
As officers were trying to see if anyone else was hit by balloons at the Monday protest, they reportedly heard sounds of water balloons breaking in the area. (snip)

Trump supporters get the hell beat out of them and put in the hospital. Pulled from their vehicles and beat up. And the police just tut tut. What I advise people to do is stay away from them. Sooner or later, as sure as Sunday follows Saturday,they will be coming for us. They are not going to be satisfied until they provoke a war with us.

Told my kids that when I was there age in the teens we used ot do this and that, but today there are cameras everywhere and you are charged for stupid pranks.
I am so happy I lived when I did as a young kid as being a teen today is boring.
I had hoped that things would change once Trump got in. But it looks to me like things have actually gotten worse. I saw that Portland “Riot Squad” at the airport after the Trump supporter got his head beat in. The only people they scared were themselves. In fact, it looked to me as if the police feared the rioters, instead of the other was around. I realized at that moment that we were on our own.
Did any of them do the Wizard of Oz witch routine: “I’m melting!”

Of course, the literal beatings of Trump supporters is never a crime.
How about that scene in the Exorcist when the priest splashes Holy Water on the possessed girl and she screams “it burns!”. Turned out it wasn’t really holy water. The priest just told her it was.
Contrast that with leftist protesters throwing eggs at guests attending inaugural balls. Were any leftists charged for throwing eggs at people that night? Didn't think so, because they were liberals.
I suppose he being knocked unconscious while your assailants scream "How about THAT, Nazi girl!" would be perfectly acceptable to her.

Protesting outside Lindsey Graham’s office. One of the most outspoken *critics* of Trump’s policies. But it does lend him a little halo-effect victim cred.
There have been fake victims of fake hate crimes who used Sharpies to write slurs on their bodies, or spray paint to mark their homes, rather than stage fake knife attacks or beatings. All the publicity for a meager investment.
And since the media never reports the outcome of the investigation, really, why bother getting yourself mussed up, just to make the accusation?
Yeah, real violence and urine balloons thrown at anyone not a lefty is deemed OK, but this is lock them up charge. I’m hoping Sessions can encourage rule of law here.
