An ongoing source of controversy in baseball is the Indians' ongoing use of the Chief Wahoo logo. For the uninitiated, here's the logo in question:
The team has, without much acknowledgment, de-emphasized Wahoo in recent years, but it's still an occasional part of the team's uniform. As for the league, MLB addressed the issue in passing during last year's ALCS, but now it appears that commissioner Rob Manfred and the team are having more in-depth discussions about the use of Wahoo ...

The Indians were of course just awarded the 2019 All-Star Game ... If recent hints and cultural trends are any guide, then Wahoo may not be used in any official capacity for much longer.

Squaw with high cheekbones find Chief Wahoo heap offensive ... glad to see-em go way of buffalo ... Freeper no make bad smoke on this thread!
What constitutes high cheek bones?
If the logo is deemed racist, will that drum they play during all home games be racist too? It is Indians who have that guy who beats that drum right?
Again, my co-workers are wondering why I am laughing......
Another attempt to make the American Indian a non-person relegated to the memory hole of the past, so the Libs will not suffer angst when they are recalled called to memory.
As an advertising man once said,...”There is no such thing as bad publicity, just make sure they spell the name right.”
150 years ago the American Indian was known through out the world as tough fierce fighters. Even the French criminals started calling themselves “Apaches”.
The Pink Pantied Putzs are Pouting. Get a life, morons.
I would consider it an honor.
I do think they need to get rid of the smiling Indian logo. Go back to the somber profiled one; maybe then they could beat the Cubs.
Dear Tribe - do NOT change the logo. PC is BS.
I think it’s the Wahoo part that’s actually offensive.
They were 2 healthy starters away from beating the cubs in 5.
I not only have well cared for shirts with Chief Wahoo, I also have a sweatshirt that features “Jacobs Field”. The Indians were given the All Star Game in a few years. One can’t help but wonder if they sold out on Chief Wahoo for that....I hope not.
The Cleveland Indians have been de-emphasizing that logo for some time. It won’t be missed if the Indians drop that logo.
Go See Chief Osceola the Seminoles where tell you to F**** Off
Indian names and references are only allowed on casinos!
Who decrees what is offensive?
The San Diego Padres have a mascot who dresses up as a friar, in an outfit reminiscent of those worn by Father Junipero Serra, when he founded Mission San Diego de Alcala.
Point being, is the intent of sports nicknames to demean and dishonor those so named?
Are the Padres offensive to the Catholic church?
Are the Notre Dame Fighting Irish offensive to Irish people?
Are the Boston Celtics offensive to the Celtic people?
Are the Minnesota Vikings disrespecting the memory of Leif Ericsson???
Are the Seattle Mariners offensive to real sailors?
Are the Green Bay Packers offensive to real meat packers??
Are the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive to real steel workers?
Are the Dallas Cowboys offensive to real cowboys?
Normally I am opposed to politicians interfering in such matters of these but here’s what I would like to hear in this case:
“Commissioner, the President is on the phone for you”
“Hello Commish this the Donald. Don’t you have more important things to do than harass Cleveland about Chief Wahoo? By the way, nice little ant-trust exemption you have there. Sure hate to see anything happen to it. Have a nice day”
