President Trump on Tuesday evening threatened to send government officials to the Windy City if the Democratic mayor and city police cannot turn around the city's rocketing homicide rate.
"If Chicago doesn't fix the horrible "carnage" going on, 228 shootings in 2017 with 42 killings (up 24% from 2016), I will send in the Feds!" Trump tweeted around 9:30 p.m. EST Tuesday.
Gun-related violence in Chicago is outpacing the same period in 2016, which was one of the most deadly years for the city in recent history. From Jan. 1 through Monday, 37 people were killed and 250 people were shot, according to one survey.

It has already set a record in 2017 based on last year’s numbers. Is it legal to send in the feds?

But, all the media says there is no ‘carnage’. Because Trump said that in his speech, that made it ‘dark’.
What’s funny is that Rahm has said not a word about this tweet.
What can he say?
He knows he is an absolute failure and Chicago is little better than some third world city with a dozen or more murders every weekend. And as a result, he is useless.
But to accept help from Trump? I bet he would rather see Chicago burn before doing that.
Sounds good, but not sure how that’s supposed to work. Big states’ rights issue; don’t want to send in National Guard just for hoodlums mostly killing their own.
I hope not, and I hope Trump doesn't try it.
If he does, we can expect the same from the next "progressive" administration but with the motivation to oppress.
When he states that he will initiate an action, he has already calculated how the "compromise" will end up where he wants it to be.
He knows how he will do this within the Constitution.
If it rises? Jesus....how much more violence does there need to be?
I think President Trump is giving the mayor a chance to crack down.

It’s a quagmire, put a fence around it and let them enjoy what 100 years of Democrats have wrought.

Well the NG was sent into Los Angeles for the riots there many years ago, I know first hand because one of my cousins was part of that force, And BTW they were armed with fully automatic weapons.
