Smoking gun, for sure. An analog clock on the tower showing 1:14, if you really want to nitpick.

I'm suspecting that the entire crowd couldn't get close enough the first time, so they rebroadcast on a continuous loop.

It would explain not only the empty spots in the crowd, but why some of them seemed to be milling about or even heading in the opposite direction.

We need one or more Freepers in the DC area to check this out to determine if the clock is set correctly and running properly.

And if it is, to get some fresh photos documenting it before the clock time is altered to provide cover for the original photo.

All the evil-doers would have to do is set it an hour ahead and claim it was never set back last fall when daylight Saving Time ended.
