Newly minted Secretary of Defense James Mattis celebrated his first full day at the Pentagon by overseeing 31 strikes against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
Mattis entered the Pentagon Saturday with a smile for his first full day of work, and for good reason, considering the significant bombardment ISIS forces received.
A variety of fighters, bombers and remotely piloted aircraft engaged in the bombing run, which saw 25 strikes in Syria and six in Iraq.
In Syria, two strikes destroyed ISIS units and artillery near the town of Bab. ISIS forces in Raqqa, the terrorist groups de facto capital, took a heavy beating, as 22 strikes destroyed 12 tactical units, nine fighting positions, two underground improvised explosive bomb factories and an ISIS headquarters. The final strike targeted two ISIS oil wells in Deir ez Zour.

Until there are collateral casualties/damage, we won’t hear from the liars.
And as momentum and intensity builds up....its going to be:
Ahead of schedule and under budget.
The Trump signature theme.
I'm going to get heat for saying this:
Bush's neverending spiel against "terrace" bored me to tears. And in time outraged me. Because he never prosecuted a proper offensive at all against the bad guys. He should have started that on 9/12, when it had been confirmed that it had been Osama behind the attacks.
Instead "Dubya" launched a war against US via the PATRIOT Act and began a war that destabilized the region, spawned ISIS and made Iran a greater threat than ever. In time Osama Bin Laden got his just desserts, but that is something which must be ascribed to the members of the military and not their commander in chief, regardless of who it might have been.
Time to face up to it: George W. Bush was a piss-poor president whose bungling paved the way for Obama's even worse bungling and had it not been for Bush's abuse of the Constitution first Obama could NEVER have inflicted so much damage these past eight years. "He was better than Gore or Kerry" doesn't cut it. Measured on his own merits, Bush the Lesser was arguably the worst after Obama. A far second, but still unacceptably bad.
I honestly had given up hope on ever seeing things turn around. But in less than 72 hours since becoming President, Trump and his team have demonstrated more proactive leadership than the past four presidents combined.
I am coming to be very, very excited again about the direction of America. The old order has been swept away, all the Obamas and the Bushes and the Clintons. The people are back in charge and they've brought long-needed sanity and responsibility with them.
LOL. Well played.
Heat? What heat? I suspect most people here would agree with you.
LOL. Mad Dawg - my favorite Cabinet appointment by Trump. A first among Excellent A-List git er done people. Yipee.
“He doesnt see any use for pussy-footing around with terrorists.”
And he definitely doesn’t plan to announce every date and time of future attacks. Who does that? Oh... right... Obama does that.
When they were chatting I was hoping it wasn’t too important in case lip readers were watching.
“George W. Bush was a piss-poor president whose bungling paved the way for Obama...”
Absolutely. We never mention the last eight years as being terrible — it’s ALWAYS the last 12 years.
No heat from me.
Great, but someone needs to tell us how our vital national interests are being served, and why the heck we are in Iraq and Syria.
Whack-a-mole isn’t a strategy.
The day before the inauguration, President Trump said that he wouldn't call Gen. Mattis "Mad Dog" anymore because he didn't know how the general felt about that. After the inauguration, President Trump was calling him "Mad Dog" again. General Mattis must have told him it's okay.
In 1967 24 British soldiers were massacred in the Crater area of Aden after being betrayed by their moslem "allies". Lt Col Colin Mitchell and the Argyle Sutherland Highlanders were sent to Yemen.
Lt Col Colin Mitchell using his own judgement led his men into the Crater area to regain control. He them imposed Argyll Law to maintain order which was "controversial" and faced accusations of "brutality" all the PC buzz words we are now familiar with which mean he did the right thing and killed a lot of moslem terrorists!
This short article gives the basics and despite being the BBC is ok just ignore the PC buzz words ;)
There is a good documentary about this I shall have to look it up again. Lots of interviews with the actual troops who were there.
He is Mad Dog no longer.
His new moniker will be Boom Mattis!
Wait until he really gets things rolling.
The way I read it
MD had just been sworn in
He immediately reported in to the President
The President gave him the go ahead to initiate a plan previously discussed.
Under the cover of the wimmen March that distracted the MSM (the deed was accomplished without their knowledge )
The announcement will be AFTER the mopping up is completed.
Next cabinet position?
Finally - someone in charge who considers it a waste if an attack doesn’t involve some significant casualties on the other side....
Picked up a poorly edited and formatted kindle book last year that alleged we did not have enough uranium for even the first bomb until we captured the u-boat with it en route to Japan. Also there was a german on board that eventually designed the plutonium triggers for the other bomb. Curious to know thoughts.
Sounds like a wonderful plan!
Winning. Winning. Winning. Not tired of it.
Nice Start. Mad Dog will get the job done.
