A coalition of 25 student groups at the University of Maryland have issued a letter to the school’s administrators containing 64 demands to help “marginalized student populations” feel more welcome on campus. Among the demands is a ban on public screenings of the film “American Sniper.”
The group, who call themselves ProtectUMD, sent the letter in the wake of President-Elect Donald Trump’s victory, according the Diamondback student newspaper Monday. In response to Trump’s election, the student coalition demanded additional support and protection for minority groups — particularly the Muslim, illegal immigrant, pro-Palestinian, and LGBT communities. The Muslims students especially wished the administrators to take measures “to prevent situations similar to the ‘American Sniper’ situation from happening again.”

You’re right, I missed it.
Again, I’m not excusing their cluelessness. But on a pedestrian oriented college campus (and it’s not just at Univ. of MD), people just tend to get into a fog and not think too much about the motorized vehicles among them. Not the smartest way to go across campus, but it is what it is.
Stupid is no way to go through life. Does the fog magically lift when they go off campus?

I will not participate in alumni activities and I will not respond to any further correspondence, most especially that asking for donations, from the University of Maryland, from this day forth.
I've expressed my angst by email and will follow it up with a handwritten missive tomorrow.

Uncle Jimmy, who died at 95, God rest his soul, and was a machine gunner in the Bulge, fought off a mugger at 85.

Mandatory deportation for these students. Let them live in their hellholes of origin and stay OUT of the USA.

Proud isn’t a strong enough word. And miss isn’t either.
My pop died when I was 14 and he was good to me, my uncle.
He did a video interview for a friend making a documentary on American wars, as a favor to me. A year before he died.
He told of being a machine gunner on a tank as wave after wave of Germans kept coming. He said he was shooting, killing and crying.
And they wouldn’t stop coming.
Aside from their sick intentions, my uncle said German soldiers were tough!
There’s other things he told me. He got home and everyone wanted him to take time off. He went straight to work in a factory and worked there for 50 years.
Funny story, I was leaving a family party at about 11pm and was going to AC for a few hours. It was only 2 hours away and I was in my 20s. Uncle Jimmy said “i’ll go along” lol!
Had to be in early 80s and we didn’t get home till morning :)
