State Rep. Christina Hagan, R-Marlboro Township, indicated that she will resign as a presidential elector after two residents over the weekend filed an emergency lawsuit alleging that the Ohio Constitution prohibits a state legislator from serving as a presidential elector.
“It is unfortunate that the extreme left has engaged in what is the most obvious display of partisan and extreme political bullying that can occur,” said a post on Hagan’s Facebook page late Sunday night. “I however will gladly resolve any potential frivolous lawsuits from moving forward by resigning my opportunity to Chair and cast a vote as a member of the Electoral College in order to ensure no delay in the official election of Donald J. Trump as the 45th President of the United States.”

I should know the constitutional requirement here in Ohio, but I don’t.
There’s no US Constitutional requirement that she is violating.

This is my district and I know Christina. She lives close to me and my hubs is friends with her brother.
She works hard for her constituents. I actually did think that was the law here in Ohio but I’m not sure.
The plaintiffs may be right. If this is the case she is doing the right thing by resigning. I do hope there is a mechanism to replace her in time for the vote today.
Did we not pick the right guy or what. The liberals know in 4 years, the USSC, with most state legislatures and governorships we can dismantle lots of the incipient election rigging the Democrats have done the last 60 years. Make photo ids mandatory for voting, period. Make very stiff penalties for vote rigging, election tampering and cajoling others in fraud. I say if you commit vote fraud like you live in inner city Philadelphia, you serve jail time and ALL your benefits, food stamps, WIC, etc are suspended for 10 years. I am thoroughly enjoying the left feeling true dread and panic today as the pain of the election sinks in again.

She, unlike the Dim electors, did the right thing. It seems the lawsuit might have merit under Ohio law.
It will not affect the number of Trump electors in Ohio, and she remains as a GOP rep in the statehouse.
The person is stepping aside to help Trump by removing any possibility of courtroom shenanigans. She should be praised, not insulted.
I’m a Buckeye, but I don’t know the law either. I know that a US rep can’t be an elector, but our US constitution doesn’t say a state rep can’t be an elector.
I’m not sure why the state would forbid it for a state rep other than just to mirror the US constitution.
Did you bother to read even the abstract of the article? She is making sure that the lawsuit cannot delay the vote.
That is why these ideologues are SO evil. It is all about controlling other people and forcing their ideology on others. It ends with millions being killed always. The Marxist bullying has to end-—and these people who make threats need to be reported to the authorities and restrained.
But, in obama’s America, the criminals are in control of the courts, institutions, and police policies so nothing will happen. Electors are NOT to be harassed.
We have a Vice System in America now.
