2. I don't buy for a second HuffPuff's thesis that Obama is the one who destroyed the Dem party; we all know it was Hillary and we also all know that if the Clintons continue to control the Dem party, they're doomed (yea!).

After being crushed in this last election, it has been amazing to me that the Dems are doubling down on what caused them to be destroyed during the last THREE elections, namely, reappointing Nancy Peolosi, cosying up to the radical anti-Semitic Muslim Keith Ellison, moving even further to the left, and completely denying the REAL reasons Hillary lost.
4. All of his has left me wondering if/how the Dems were going to recover from their disastrous death spiral, particularly if President Trump manages to deliver on jobs and the economy, in which case not too many people will give a crap about what the Dems say or do.
5. Now I think I understand what could save them, namely Obama, their most popular leader in a quarter century, could oust the Clintonistas and their cohorts, retake the reins of the party, and reform it. Obama already gets it about the jobs issue based on his above quote. And Obama is still young and no doubt still ambitious and far from ready to go out to pasture.
6. Essentially, what I read between the lines in this article is that Obama wants to lead the revolt against the old guard Clintonista Dem party apparatchiks and will start the revolt by trying to install his own DNC chair. It's the Dem version of President Trump ousting the ossified, GOPe RINOs.
7. Should Obama succeed, then he's got a genuine chance to revitalize the Dem party (boo!), but if the old guard DC Dem insiders succeed in side-lining Obama, then the Dems are doomed to wander the deserts of defeat for many more years (yea!).

Hillary was a bad candidate, no doubt. But the party’s leftward tilt—that she in turn catered to—is in large party on Obama.
The donks have lost somewhere around a thousand seats at the federal, state, and local level, since Obama took over that party.
They've also lost control of a host of governorships and state houses under his watch.
