In an interview with Syrian newspaper Al Watan this morning, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stressed that Israel alone is Syrias enemy.
He who conquers our land is an enemy country, not [merely] a country whose leaders employ hostile policies. Israel alone remains our enemy country.
Our land is apparently a reference to the Land of Israel itself, and not Syria, which Arab news outlets reported yesterday the Israeli Air Force had bombed.

Oh come on. We're actively supporting the Syrian rebels specifically to overthrow Assad.
Elam is as you said mainly Isaiah and other prophets. So much is right on the cusp. I love reading and listening to eschatology but of course conceptualizing can only go so far. Damascus as you probably know has never fallen which is why I added Isaiah Ch-17. Ezekiel 38,39 used to be my tagline and probably will end up again soon enough. It’s exciting but again distressing at the same time living through these days and seeing these prophecies on the verge of coming true.
Please! Obama has never stepped UP to anything. He is the quintessential girly-man. (And in most cases, thankfully for us.)
ML/NJ
Sure we are; that’s why Obama erased the red lines and was flexible towards the Russian presence.
And I notice you couldn’t answer as to when exactly the (national socialist, BTW) Ba’athists changed their stance with respect to Israel.
Golan was part of the sovereign state of Syria.
Israel laid no claim to it... during the 1967 war Israel occupies it. That’s the status. It is occupied Syrian territory. Dejure Syrian, defacto Israeli occupied. No other country recognizes the Golan as Israeli territory.
There may be hundreds of good reasons why Israel won’t give back the Golan. But the Syrian President sould be the least person you’d expect simply to forfeit his country’s claim.
half heartedly. Obama supports Iran, hence the Iran deal. Russia supports Iran, hence the Iran deal. Nobody is really interested in going after ISIS
..Trump to the opthamologist—Isis or leave Israel alone—choose...
Did you read what I wrote? Golan is now part of the sovereign state of Israel. De jure and de facto. If Syria wants it then they are welcome to try and conquer it.
I think Trump will recognize the Golan as Israel. He will also move our embassy to Jerusalem.
Well, I certainly would never accuse Obama of doing the reverse of stepping back, since stepping back is his forté. Especially in Iraq, where our withdrawal was the catalyst for al-Qa’eda in Iraq’s metamorphosis.
What you mentioned?
Isaiah 17:1-3 [KJV]
The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid. The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts.
The Kurds do a great job of defeating ISIS with minimal weapons.
If you would have actually read the New Testament, you’d talk differently.
There is still time to do so.
That was my first impression as well, but Christ re-iterated many times “At an hour that you think not” He’ll come back.
I’m a rapture believer, so IMHO once the Church is gone, all Holy Hell will break loose on this planet - probably beginning with Damascus being obliterated.
It’s always good to be ready. FReegards my FRiend!
I have indeed read the NT several times. Did you know that about one-third of it is OT quotes?
Not to mention that I’ve believed since I was young that Jesus is the Messiah. Being raised Christian may have something to do with that.
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

They’ve had rather unpleasant experiences every time they “bring it on”. Pot shots across the border are all their surrogate is up to, too.
Having lived in Israel and not Jewish, I don't have a dog in this fight. However, I have seen the pre-war battle lines and positions on the Golan. Do you know that Syria used sniper and artillery fire from the Golan from 1947 - 1973 when they lost those positions, hence Assad will never get them back....
Do you support Assad?
