The Cavaliers have a contract with Trump SoHo hotel in lower Manhattan, but a group of players have been excused from staying there. LeBron James is among the players who will not stay at the hotel, ESPN reports.
James endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton about a month before she lost the election to Donald Trump.

I plead guilty to watching every game while living in Chicago burbs during the Jordan-Pippin era. I do not recall them boycotting any republicans. They kept their political views private and won 6 world NBA championships.

Here's what I don't get about James and celebrities.
If Hillary had won, who could afford to attend an upcoming sporting event, a concert, or go to the movies?
A lot of people in the heartland would have simply unplugged. There would have been tons of cancellations from cable, DirecTV, even streaming services like Netflix and Hulu.

Good point. If they were really intelligent, they would not be democrats.

If Trump does his thing, these dopes will be onboard by late 2017 and all this nonsense will be forgotten.

Jerk. Any Trump hotel/tower is better without him. But I don’t care where he stays. He means nothing to me.

I refuse to call any athlete by his first name. When did this fascination become so commonplace? Do fawning types at ESPN sit around and say “Yup, this guy gets first name-only status?”
Imagine if Johnny Bench said something at the height of his greatness. Would the headline be “Johnny...?

Sorry, like LeBron this this is such a juvenile thing to do. Hurts the team chemistry and does not affect Trump.

Since the team has to pay for his room anyway and now the hotel won't have the housekeeping expenses and a day's wear-and-tear for the room Donald Trump will get an even greater profit. OK, maybe only $5 or $10 bucks, but every bit counts when rubbing a lib's nose in it.

I haven't watched the NBA since Jordan and Rodman were on the Bulls.
Speaking of a great SOS pick, RODMAN has EXPERIENCE!
