Wisconsin election officials are expected to meet Monday to discuss a possible timeline for a recount of the state's presidential election.
The recount comes at the request of Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who says it's important to determine whether hacking may have affected the results. Stein says she also plans to request recounts in Pennsylvania and Michigan.

“And what happens if Wisconsin doesn’t finish the recount by the federally required deadline of Dec. 13??? “

Is there any confirmation Jill paid for the recount? or just the application fee?
I haven’t seen any mention she has paid and I think they don’t start until it’s paid.
Sad WI going thru all this starting to prepare to do a recount if Jill ends up balking and not going thru with it. I hope not many volunteers are involved yet until it’s actually paid and a “go”.
I’m hoping tomorrow she is met with bad news from PA.
WI legislature can safe harbor the electors so they can still vote on Dec 19th - if the recount is not finished before then.
They’re figuring out how much it would cost and they’ll only go ahead once Stein posts a bond to get it started.
... If I am not mistaken, I believe that If the Recount goes past the Dec 19th electoral vote .... Then the States Electoral votes would not be counted in this election and would become null and void and deleted from the electoral count. This would change the results of the election.
.... In the end we'd probably end up with a situation similar to 1876, when both Democratic and Republican electors submitted competing electoral votes from three states, and Congress had to decide which set to accept. Congress is controlled by Republicans, so guess what they would decide.
.... Either way, whoever did take office would be seriously damaged by the process.
thanks for that info about them safe harboring electors.
Just the application fee was paid Friday.
The recount bond amount is still being calculated. A separate charge to be paid up front.

What the courts should decide before the recount can begin is whether there is reason to believe there was hacking involved. Recounting votes for the sake of recounting will not determine whether any fraud actually occurred.
Therefore a recount is meaningless and without standing.
Not to worry. Soros has it covered.
do you have a link about safe harboring electors? what exactly does it mean? it just sounds comforting to know it’s an option that may be used, but I don’t even k now what it is :) I’d just like no states to be disenfranchised for electoral voting, because it effects the people who voted from there.
Here’s the proposed time-line.

which will probably be THE timeline
Other threads say that the full amount was supposed to be paid at the time of filing, and clearly wasn’t. According to other threads, that means they missed the deadline (no payment, no filing; no filing, no recount).
Of course, the rules tend to be different if you are a Democrat.
It doesn’t take 270 to win, it takes a majority of the electoral votes CAST. If the WI votes aren’t cast due to the recount crap, then 265 min out of 528 will still win it for Trump. Likewise, take away PA and MI, then thats only 492 cast. A majority is 247. Trump still wins with 260.
Now we know what Stein’s real reason for being in the race was.
She has been a Clinton plant all along.....served a dual purpose.
Stein campaign has until close of business day Tuesday Nov 29 to pay the recount bond in full.
Won them (and MI) by a lot more than Clinton in New Hampshire...
What about Michigan/Pennsylvania on the Dec 19th deadline? Do their legislatures have some safe harbor option available like Wisconsin?
You are.
There are 100 Senators and 438 members of the House of Representatives. You need the votes of at least half of these electors plus 1 to win the Presidency. That is 270 electoral votes. If all of Trump's electors fail to vote for him Hillary WILL NOT BECOME President since she won't have the necessary 270 electoral votes.
What happens then?
The House votes for the President. The Senate votes for the Vice President. A simple majority wins. Trump and Pence take office on 20 January 2017.
If you don't believe me go read the 12th Amendment to the Constitution. It is quite clear.
