They did Friedrich a favor. He avoided the WWI.

Actually it was a common thing for Germans to ‘escape’ to America to avoid mandatory military duty. Nothing to be ashamed of.

No kidding? That’s fascinating.

Thought it was a stupid war?

Yes, and a lot of other Germans came here because the military was persecuting them for their beliefs. They were goose-stepping swine (a good number of them).

If Trump’s grandfather had stayed in Germany he would probably be dead by now.

Trump's grandfather would most certainly be dead by now, no matter where he resided.

The Guardian has special equipment which allows them to descend to depths of depravity unreachable by even the New York Times.

He emigrated to the US aged 16 initially to escape poverty, attracted by the gold rush.

I like the man already.

I guess they are thinking it impugns Trump.

Nope.

If Trump’s grandfather didn’t obey the.sovereignty laws of that land, then he should be banished from that land.

Common sense. I hope Trump shows the same rational policies, But my faith in him is fading fast. Even before he’s sworn in.

I read elsewhere the family name wasn’t “Trump” until after coming to USA and starting businesses here?

"Many Germans left to USA and had no love for the Kaiser and serving in the military."

Perfect example for the snowflakes. If they don't like our President-Elect, they can move to another country!

Or, perhaps your sense of humor isn’t quite as clever as you, yourself imagine it to be.

GERMAN SLAVERY = TRUMP

Trump’s grandfather became a Freed Slave.

History not taught in public school is that Germans were often slaves who served in the military. It was worse than USA black slavery, because you died.

Democrats should pay reparations to Donald Trump.

Trump’s ancestors suffered worse slavery than US blacks.

And that’s a Fact Jack!
