Montgomery Alabama television station WSFA is reporting that President elect Trump has offered the position of United States Attorney General to Senator Jeff Sessions. This would be an awesome pick. Senator Sessions previously has saved as a U.S. Attorney, as Attorney General for the StTe of Alabama, and as a Senator for Alabama for multiple terms.

Oh please let him accept. Trump team would not have announced this unless it were a done deal. Sessions probably has already accepted.

Jeff Sessions Said to Be Trump's Pick for Attorney General - Bloomberg
This article claims two sources. Reading betwween the lines, one of the sources is a person in the Criuz camp, who was told that Sessions was offered the AG position.
This article also says it is not clear that Trump formally offered the job to Sessions.
Link only, because Bloomerg.

Maybe. I’m pretty sure they changed that this year.

Would be a great choice.
But, I'm befuddled why Mittens is meeting with President Trump. Could it be: Keep your enemies close and your/our real enemies closer!

Since it’s being reported down in AL, I’m okay with doing my happy dance a little early :-)

Jeff Sessions is also one of the conservatives champions on the Hill, in the Senate caucus where we need all the help we can get. Mitch McConnell gets a lot of criticism here, and much of it is unfair. McConnell was a fearless Minority Leader. As a Majority Leader, he has led a caucus with about 40-45 reliable conservatives, rounded out by a bunch of moderates who are the swing vote. A lot of the criticism of McConnell comes from people who don't understand that to command even 51 votes, he has needed Susan Collins, Mark Kirk, Lisa Murkowski, Lindsey Graham, and John McCain on board. This does tend to tie his hands. And heading into next year, the margin will be even narrower. I'm sure the Democrats are already looking for the next Jim Jeffords.
Offering the nomination to Sessions was a mistake. For Sessions to accept it would be a mistake. There are times when a person is too important right where he is. There are plenty of people who would make a great AG.

Now nominate Ted Cruz to Scalias seat.
Not on the list of 21. Maybe next time?

Sessions, who is widely respected and has impeccable dignity, will be more effective against media smears when the AG starts draining the swamp.

A fantastic pick, but he will be very sorely missed in the Senate. OTOH, he’s 70, so maybe might not have run for re-election anyway.

The PE met with Bill de Blasio, too. And I don’t think DJT will be offering Kaiser Wilhelm a gig.

That’s true. Alabama is a solid red state. There is no risk of a RAT taking Session’s senate seat.

I think this is the original, first source of the report ...
Trump Offers Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions Attorney General Post - CBS New York
Sources directly involved in the selection process tell CBS News that President-elect Donald Trump has offered the post of attorney general to Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions.
The rest of the report is filler and "Sessions is a racist" suggestion.
