Montgomery Alabama television station WSFA is reporting that President – elect Trump has offered the position of United States Attorney General to Senator Jeff Sessions. This would be an awesome pick. Senator Sessions previously has saved as a U.S. Attorney, as Attorney General for the StTe of Alabama, and as a Senator for Alabama for multiple terms.
Beautiful.
And his problems getting along with the other senators were not, in his case, a point in his favor, since he was just copying the sincere and courageous Rand Paul in order to get himself in the news.
He copied Trump as well at many points during the campaign, at one point even chartering a plane so he could be seen arriving in one.
A phony.
Maybe Mitt is simply being called onto the carpet and read the book of new rules. Rule number 1 is “Go back to Utah, buy yourself a nice cabin, and STFU. We will contact you when we want your mouth to start moving again.”

How about another Senate conservative: Jesse Helms. Guy was a principled conservative, but was able to, as far as I know, work with people to get things done. Jesse didn’t piss off both sides of the aisle. Now, I know it was a different time, but Jesse was a staunch right winger even when the country was a little more “right” leaning. Ted, for all his positive traits, has a tough time getting guys even in his own party to work with him.
I think he’d be best suited as a justice on the Supreme Court. He’d stick to the Constitution. His skill set isn’t making the sausage that is legislation.

Haha liked the sausage bit and I do agree with many points you have. I believe he gets along with Sessions and a scant few. I firmly believe the establishment is so entrenched that anyone with a sniff of conservatism is snuffed out and castigated. I knew Ted was right over target when he was filibustering to force the Senate into a budget (which might I add one hasn’t been passed in 10 years (a real one) and McLame was trashing him in the media.

Ted Cruz likes to claim that he's hated by members of his own party because he's so honest and principled. The late Justice Scalia was principled, but was liked and respected even by his liberal colleagues (he and Ruth Ginsberg were close personal friends). Ronald Reagan was almost universally loved by his own party and respected by many ideological opponents. So if Ted Cruz is hated not only by his ideological opponents but by his supposed allies, being "principled" isn't the problem. The problem is Ted Cruz.
The State of TX is discovering lots of attacks on voter integrity to stop voter fraud in the realm of electronic voting machines. TX-Senator Bob Hall will be on the air today to discuss on Raging Elephants Radio and I’m hearing it involves Republicans....
Perhaps Sessions can look into that.

Ted has stepped in his chili, and quite out of his boots, stretched way, way out over his skies, ever since he set his bags down in the US Senate, immediately viewing TEXAS in his rear view mirror from the day he left.

I think if Ted Cruz is hated, it’s for entirely personal and substantive reasons.
I completely agree with his principles. I am SICK of these omnibus “spend all” bills. Disgusting.
yes, you have described the situation very very well.
Ideologically, Cruz is mostly sound on the majority of issues. However, his own actions at the Republican convention showed him to be a backstabber and someone not to be trusted. I’d rather have someone honest who I disagree with on some issues than someone I mostly agree with who I can’t trust. Ted’s colleagues hate him for putting his personal ambition ahead of all else, not for his ideological consistency.

Throughout the campaign, I found it easy to read transcripts of his statements, but agree his presentation was cringe-inducing. and for a guy who is supposed to be so brilliant, he has done truly stupid things. reading “green eggs and ham” during a filibuster vs. convincingly stating principled positions on a whole host of issues is just one example. of course that was the sound bite he should have known the media would use.
something is not quite right in the head about a guy who at his age is still wearing his princeton class ring...
