Montgomery Alabama television station WSFA is reporting that President – elect Trump has offered the position of United States Attorney General to Senator Jeff Sessions. This would be an awesome pick. Senator Sessions previously has saved as a U.S. Attorney, as Attorney General for the StTe of Alabama, and as a Senator for Alabama for multiple terms.

Beautiful.

And his problems getting along with the other senators were not, in his case, a point in his favor, since he was just copying the sincere and courageous Rand Paul in order to get himself in the news.

He copied Trump as well at many points during the campaign, at one point even chartering a plane so he could be seen arriving in one.

A phony.

Maybe Mitt is simply being called onto the carpet and read the book of new rules. Rule number 1 is “Go back to Utah, buy yourself a nice cabin, and STFU. We will contact you when we want your mouth to start moving again.”

I know what you mean.

How about another Senate conservative: Jesse Helms. Guy was a principled conservative, but was able to, as far as I know, work with people to get things done. Jesse didn’t piss off both sides of the aisle. Now, I know it was a different time, but Jesse was a staunch right winger even when the country was a little more “right” leaning. Ted, for all his positive traits, has a tough time getting guys even in his own party to work with him.

I think he’d be best suited as a justice on the Supreme Court. He’d stick to the Constitution. His skill set isn’t making the sausage that is legislation.

My opinion. Your mileage may vary.

We’ll have to agree to disagree.

Haha liked the sausage bit and I do agree with many points you have. I believe he gets along with Sessions and a scant few. I firmly believe the establishment is so entrenched that anyone with a sniff of conservatism is snuffed out and castigated. I knew Ted was right over target when he was filibustering to force the Senate into a budget (which might I add one hasn’t been passed in 10 years (a real one) and McLame was trashing him in the media.

I knew right then he had zero’d in

Ted Cruz likes to claim that he's hated by members of his own party because he's so honest and principled. The late Justice Scalia was principled, but was liked and respected even by his liberal colleagues (he and Ruth Ginsberg were close personal friends). Ronald Reagan was almost universally loved by his own party and respected by many ideological opponents. So if Ted Cruz is hated not only by his ideological opponents but by his supposed allies, being "principled" isn't the problem. The problem is Ted Cruz.

The State of TX is discovering lots of attacks on voter integrity to stop voter fraud in the realm of electronic voting machines. TX-Senator Bob Hall will be on the air today to discuss on Raging Elephants Radio and I’m hearing it involves Republicans....
Perhaps Sessions can look into that.

HA!HA!HA! You pretty much have “little britches” down, exactly!

Really, Cruz appeared to have been offered nothing following his meeting in Trump Tower.

Ted has stepped in his chili, and quite out of his boots, stretched way, way out over his skies, ever since he set his bags down in the US Senate, immediately viewing TEXAS in his rear view mirror from the day he left.

Thanks ever so much for the laugh, seeing Cruz pegged so nicely, in verse! LOL! Rita

I think if Ted Cruz is hated, it’s for entirely personal and substantive reasons.

I completely agree with his principles. I am SICK of these omnibus “spend all” bills. Disgusting.

Ideologically, Cruz is mostly sound on the majority of issues. However, his own actions at the Republican convention showed him to be a backstabber and someone not to be trusted. I’d rather have someone honest who I disagree with on some issues than someone I mostly agree with who I can’t trust. Ted’s colleagues hate him for putting his personal ambition ahead of all else, not for his ideological consistency.

I agree with almost everything Cruz has to say, but I find his defects to be significant. I think he has the worst presentation of any GOP candidate in the 2016 season. Just awful and cringe-inducing.

He personifies the image of the naturally obnoxious, smirking white Republican that the white liberal media loves to promote.

You mean oily Felito, that mystery master of the universe with the “Ted” Cruz alias?

-innuendo and opinion

The brilliant jurist who “did not realize” that his citizenship of record was Canadian?

-quite certain he knew

The champion of truth who campaigns with sealed records?

-That’s never happened nah no one has ever done this but now onto your point since you left it open ended, what precise records are you referring to?

The astute fiduciary who forgot that the million or two million dollars in assets he said were divested were still kind of... lying around?

- again innuendo yes he claimed them and admitted the fault but you have direct evidence showing he purposely did this?

That ardent American patriot who sleeps next to one of the architects of a North American Union?

-who one is married to is of no concern to you or I and the evil bank schtick is tired and old. If she has committed a crime then please do share that information. You may change my mind. Until then it’s innuendo used to create an impression that someone’s life mate has committed criminal wrongdoing or indiscretions

That bold outsider who ran to Jeb Bush when beckoned, and hired Neil Bush to shore up a hapless, sagging, shabby campaign?

- since you bring this out let’s play the fair game (btw I did vote Trump and like him)...the naming of Pubus the RINO rat to COS? The meeting today with good ol boy Romney? And Corker!?! Really? What say you? And save me the bit about how these things are great bouts of GENIUS have you harped on about these fine fellas?

The devoted family man at the 04:00 tattoo parlor with his groupie?

-yet again innuendo and snubbing your nose at someone perceived indiscretions while holding a double standard for those that also have perceived flaws

That dedicated Constitutional scholar who supported yielding Congressional authority on treaties to the Executive through legislation rather than Constitutional amendment?

- the vote was 98-1 and while many cheerleaders he gave a complete description of why he voted the way he did including no on cloture and yes on passage but wait hold the phone, re you critical the architect of the amendment is actively meeting with our guy? Hypocritical?

That champion of the Bill of Rights who claimed that Trump’s words created Chicago riots?

-that I did not like and spoke out against it here on these boards and I’ll say anything is used at campaign time to gain an advantage...all were nasty in this thing

That relentless adversary of the left who cadges a ride with Obama, Hillary and Jarrett?

-innuendo used to create an impression he had aligned to them in some manner. Do we know what was discussed? Do you? Maybe he read them a riot act for all we know

That respectful public servant who tried to shame people for “voter violations”?

-were there? How were they shamed?

That model of alert probity whose campaign manager maintained direct contact and information flow with PACs?

-until this year that is how money was traditionally raised all of a sudden PACs bad funding own campaign through own money or private donations good....FYI NRA is in essence a PAC

That honest man with those impressive caucus skills, and whose campaign was so timely with false news of a rival’s withdrawal?

-many thought this and that impression was common sense with the message that was delivered. How long after until he officially withdrew? Crying over spilled milk and again will remind primaries are nasty

That deeply sincere believer in something with Bible sounds who is so devout he is willing to feign prayers not once, not twice, not three, but FOUR times to get just the *right* note?

-you are a mind, heart and soul reader. Jesus should hire you maybe as his earthly contact in sincerity

That guy? On the Supreme Court?
Absolutely yes

Why doesn’t it ever get nasty when a lib is nominated for the high court? Just the opposite; it’s like a picnic!

Not true. The replacement will probably be younger. That is a good thing.

Throughout the campaign, I found it easy to read transcripts of his statements, but agree his presentation was cringe-inducing. and for a guy who is supposed to be so brilliant, he has done truly stupid things. reading “green eggs and ham” during a filibuster vs. convincingly stating principled positions on a whole host of issues is just one example. of course that was the sound bite he should have known the media would use.

something is not quite right in the head about a guy who at his age is still wearing his princeton class ring...
