Ideologically, Cruz is mostly sound on the majority of issues. However, his own actions at the Republican convention showed him to be a backstabber and someone not to be trusted. I’d rather have someone honest who I disagree with on some issues than someone I mostly agree with who I can’t trust. Ted’s colleagues hate him for putting his personal ambition ahead of all else, not for his ideological consistency.
I agree with almost everything Cruz has to say, but I find his defects to be significant. I think he has the worst presentation of any GOP candidate in the 2016 season. Just awful and cringe-inducing.
He personifies the image of the naturally obnoxious, smirking white Republican that the white liberal media loves to promote.
