An Oregon bureaucrat who waged political jihad against the owners of a Christian bakery was given the heave-ho by voters.
Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian was defeated by Republican Dennis Richardson in his bid to be Secretary of State.
It's the first time a Republican has been elected to a statewide office in Oregon since 2002.
So consider this – Avakian was too liberal for what is arguably one of the most liberal states in the country.
Avakian, a passionate advocate for the LGBTQIA crowd, was thrust into the national spotlight when he declared war on a Christian bakery in 2013.

I hope that this evil thug will recognize his error, sincerely repent, to the best of his ability make restitution to all the innocent people he has destroyed, and genuinely find God. If that does not happen, then I pray he will never find another job for the rest of his life, that he will be shunned by every decent person on earth, including by his family, and that he will die old, bitter, and alone, heartbroken that so much of Oregon survived his tyranny unbowed. The first is by far my preferred outcome, but I’m okay with whichever choice he makes.

Hopefully the new Labor Commissioner will undo the PC terrorism that the previous a-hole did to this couple. They ended up paying the $135,000 fine. I don’t know if they’re still fighting this in court.
Can Richardson just call a stop to what Avakian put in motion?
I’d think he’d at least try. Bureaucratic rules may require the court to find, but he could basically nolo contendere the agency’s role in it.
The bakery is out of business, that is why we need religious freedom. We won but the folks at the bakery were not made whole. They are still out of business and went thru much suffering and it isn’t over for them.
Trump had coat tails even where he didn’t win the state himself. Not bad for a deplorable.
They could now begin a new one, with the help of friends. Actual Christians don’t lament forever in their victim status, but thank God for new beginnings that transcend the evil that was intended for them.

Totally agree. This stuff has broken people financially because they’ve had to spend everything they had to keep out of jail. It’s terrible. Even when you win, you don’t really win.
I doubt it. Richardson won the election for Secretary of State. The thug, Avakian, abused the Klein family in his role as "Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor and Industries" for the State of Oregon. Perhaps the new commissioner could stop in, but I believe the petty tyrant stays in that office for two more years.
