Professor Stephen Hawking says humans have less than 1,000 years on Earth before we are wiped out by extinction.
The celebrated physicist said humans will only survive if another planet was found to live on.
The 74-year-old said unless this happens then humans will be wiped out in a mass extinction.

Interesting that the Obama administration unfunded NASA.

Well, Jupiter is outta the question ‘cause Cher’s going there.
Perhamps Dr. Hawking can be the first envoy to go searching for that planet once Pres Trump revives NASA...
blah, blah, blah...
Sorry Steve, the Lord is probably gonna be back long before that 1,000 years is up and Earth gonna go bye-bye. Won’t matter where humans end up in this verse, Jesus knows all of the hidy-holes.
I don’t sell humans short. They’re a pretty crafty bunch.
Look at what we have accomplished in the last 100 years.
Come back in 200. Why you won’t even recognize the place.
LOL
What manner of nitwitery is it that makes a 1,000 year prediction?
I don’t think we have 1,000 years the way liberalism is going (and, yes, they will rise again, just like the socialist Third Reich). We need to make space exploration a priority, so we don’t have all our eggs in one deplorable basket. It would be nice to have free people on another world when the totalitarian left takes power over a global government here on earth.
Well we could terraform Mars with greenhouse gases but that won’t be allowed.
As Reagan said:
"The trouble with our opposition is not that they are ignorant... it's that they know so much which isn't so."
May he live and be well, but I’ve known two people w/ALS in my lifetime and they died fairly young. That guy seems to live forever.
They said the same thing a millennium ago.
Hawkings is an idiot, these guys always forecast gloom and doom. I have zero respect for him or his scientific views ...
The most major problem with Mars is a lack of mass. Unless we take trillions of tons of the rocks and icebergs floating around Saturn and drop them on Mars, it is still going to have too weak of a gravity to trap much of an atmosphere.
Also a bitter atheist and socialist.
I bet they won’t.
Not new planets but new environments.
Habitable planets are very rare.
We need to build environments. Hollowed spheres, yes- even Dyson spheres, ringworlds, tunnel cities, whatever.
Prof, Harold Hill says we need a boys bad!
Hey, I saw that movie - it was Great!
