Congressional Clinton probes will go forward post-election, GOP lawmakers say

At least four congressional investigations into Hillary Clinton’s personal email use and mishandling of classified information are expected to go forward even after the former secretary of state’s election loss last week, Republican lawmakers tell Fox News.

The probes, which cover allegations that Clinton lied to Congress about her email practices in October 2015 and that government records were destroyed, are ongoing and not dependent on the election's outcome, two senior Republican senators said.

"I still don't have the information I need," Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, told Fox News. Johnson said the work of his committee, with jurisdiction over government records and the mishandling of classified information, would be careful not to disrupt President-elect Donald Trump’s priorities.

“I think it’s one of the messages of this election that the public is disgusted when they see double standards, when they think people in high places, high government officials can get away with what ordinary citizens can't,” he said. “So, I just think it’s extremely important to follow this thing through and get all the information. Make it public.”

Maybe they should call expert witnesses to define what constitutes an illegal act of “Mishandling Classified Material” ???

Maybe Generals Petraeus or Cartwright...

Note that these are CONGRESSIONAL investigations. The knee-jerk reaction from libs will be to blame Trump, of course, but since he’s not even president yet, and these are being pursued in the Congress, he has nothing to do with them!

Can you be given a pardon if you have no criminal record or even any charges filed?

No indictment, nothing to pardon. If a grand jury has been convened, I hope they drag their feet on returning a bill of indictment until after January 21.

Yep. Obama could pardon her for any federal crimes she may have committed, but my understanding is that he does not have the power to pardon her for any state crimes, e.g. anything to do with the Clinton Foundation as it may pertain to violating certain state statutes. In the first case, she does not have to have been indicted to receive a pardon.

A presidential pardon may be granted at any time, however, and as when Ford pardoned Nixon, the pardoned person need not yet have been convicted or even formally charged with a crime.

It was always going to be either impeachment or jail for Hillary... Thankfully she lost.

This is probably the reason why Obama is sooo P Od though. His legacy after 8 years in office will be reduced to 7 very small words.... Obama was the President who pardoned Hillary. That's because without his pardon she will surely go to jail, and Hillary is the sort of criminal who after being caught will likely drag as many as she can down with her in an effort to avoid hard time.

Obamacare, eliminated or modified to the point of non-recognition. Pretty much every other so-called 'accomplishment' wiped out with the stroke of pen, since they were all pretty much accomplished with one. Hopefully his melancholy doesn't become clinical or dangerous... After all, until January20th he still is the President and Commander in Chief.

Just do it, don’t telegraph it.

Hit them while they’re on the ropes, and keep hitting them until they buckle and knuckle under.

If a Presidential pardon is limited to offenses as the SoS; Will HRC be held accountable under the RICO statutes?

Exactly. I want DOJ to investigate her. Congress investigating her will just devolve into partisan showmanship and not end up in any indictments. It is a loser for Trump.
