Savage said he wanted to make it clear he was not turning on Trump.
Im not attacking Trump at all, he told WND. I am advising Trump to beware. Because, if he loses his base on the first day, whats going to happen in the first month?
This is a criticism of the establishment that is so all-powerful that theyve already entangled him, Savage explained.

Everybody’s got to make a living and Savage makes his by attracting listeners. He’s out of touch on this one from the reactions I’ve read. No big deal. Savage will say things and Trump will do things. There’s your difference right there.
Not that there’s anything WRONG with that!
I have no problem with Savage, btw.
:^)
Mike, go home and get your shinebox.
Priebus ran herd on the Cruzbots during the convention to limit their disruptions, shutting down their rule changing attempts and their procedural shenanigans during the roll call vote.
“What an absolute disgrace the current occupant of the White Hut has been from the inception...The people complaining seriously need to stop.”
+1
I wonder if Priebus is put in this position by Trump to get a change at the head of the RNC, and then dump Priebus.
I try to imagine what Rence’s job was like before Trump was the nominee. He had the establishment RINO’s to deal with for months and along comes Trump.
I would not have wanted to be in his position but I guess it paid off.
I don’t think I like the way you think. Do you really think President-Elect Trump operates like that? Is there anything in his past record that would lead you to a thought like that?
He cut off the head of the snake without anyone noticing.
Many keep arguing about whether Priebus was loyal enough .. or not. Certainly that is part of the equation. However let’s not neglect a key aspect — Trump probably thinks Priebus has the right organizational skills and contacts for the job. One thing for sure — Trump knows a thing or two about hiring people.
Next RNC chair will need Trump’s approval. 7D chess.
“Reince was loyal when the GOP peed their pants and ran away. This is his reward”
It’s quite possible Trump has turned Priebus.
And for Priebus, what a breath of fresh air to be assisting a Republican who is willing to fight, get bloody, and determined to win instead of all those nancies in tasseled loafers.
Yep. Forget them for your Administration for now anyway. Maybe, if you see they are loyal, you can open lines of communication with them, but it’s too soon. Go with the folks who have a history of loyalty.
He also put down the attempted convention takeover by the GOPe/Bush faction . Reince was under a lot of pressure and he sided with fairness / Trump . If Trump is vouching for Priebus, i’m ok with it .
Priebus as head of RNC worked hard to keep underhanded tricks by other candidates to steal delegates. Trump does not forget who helped him get the nomination and win in general election. Priebus is an excellent bridge to the GOP congress to get things done. Bannon can not get things done in congress which Priebus can.
I know that everyone on Free Republic knows that Rinse Penis has had his fingerprints all over some of the shittier things the RNC is done. However, if in this election he went the extra mile to elect Trump then he deserves a chance.
Exactly.
Our chattering class may mean well but they should stop kibitzing and step back from the pool table, unless they plan to chalk their noses.
It’s Trump’s shot and he’s got the cue stick.
Probably more than you want to know, and not very enlightening.
I think it just pisses off the left commentariat, and that is sufficient reason to use it.

I’d rather have seen someone other than a close ally of Paul Ryan become Chief of Staff, but I’ll wait to see results before I start criticizing or worrying about this.
