Savage said he wanted to make it clear he was not turning on Trump.
Im not attacking Trump at all, he told WND. I am advising Trump to beware. Because, if he loses his base on the first day, whats going to happen in the first month?
This is a criticism of the establishment that is so all-powerful that theyve already entangled him, Savage explained.

People here and in the nation need to understand — yes Trump is the real deal but still this is going to be a chess match. The Donald feels Reince is loyal. He needs some insiders that still are on board with his agenda.
If with every pick the wishy washy moderates freak out (i.e. Bannon), then if the patriots freak out with the next pick (Reince), this isn’t going to work well. Just leave Trump alone and have some darn faith. Bannon, Ingraham, Ebell for EPA — just floating these names is so amazing, even compared to Reagan. The people complaining seriously need to stop.
I thought Pence was still in charge of that
You can’t be serious. You don’t make your enemy your Chief of Staff. Period. You make them Secretary of State.
Michael Weiner clutching as many pearls as your average Wellesly student.
I understand the concern of Savage, but Reince was loyal to Trump when the GOP establishment gave him ample opportunities to dump him. Reince traveled with Trump and refused to pull funds. Trump considers Reince a friend. My only concern with Reince is his friendship with Paul Ryan, but hopefully Steve Bannon will balance this out because he’s wise to Ryan.
Prebus if i recall was a tea party guy. What savage fails to mention today was thst when Bush and the GOPe went after Trump Prebus stood by him and didn’t join the nevertrumpers and in fact told them TRUMP would be the nrxt POTUS.
so no he wasn’t and isn’t in bed with the Bushes
Preibus seems to have changed for the better.
Pray America woke
Mr. Priebus did a darn good job of keeping things fair and civil during the primary and you know he was under a LOT of pressure from the GOPe to trash Mr. Trump. But he showed himself to be a man of strength and good character and that’s not something you can say about many that were working in the GOP establishment back then. The President-Elect has a great track record of picking the right people for difficult tasks and Mr. Savage is way off base here. Again.
Im on FR daily and I still don’t get this frog thing I see showing up from time to time. Care to explain what it’s relevance is?
I think we are also seeing that President Elect Trump feels he can persuade “good” people who opposed him to become loyal supporters. Politics may be more fickle than the business world though, will see.
Priebus has been a great help to Donald and probably played a bigger role in his big W than most people realize. Michael needs to move out of San Francisco, that pot smoke permeating the area will get to you!
While not exited by the pick, it did seem that Priebus came around way earlier than most GOP regulars.
“Reince was loyal when the GOP peed their pants and ran away. This is his reward”
That’s how I saw it. Eventually.
You can’t argue with results.
It really means nothing. And that’s the inside joke.
The snowflakes think it is a secret symbol for racism so it is used to continually infuriate them.
Priebus sure was supportive of Trump, I’ve got to give him credit for that. Priebus didn’t play any games of holding out or trying to get some candidate out there.
You repay loyalty generally speaking, I think especially if Trump is the boss.
As I said, I learned , probably later than should have been, not to second guess Trump’s judgment. I decried his words and his actions or nonactions several times until I realized that with every “gaffe” his numbers went up, not just from the particular sentence he spoke but on his follow up, too.
Savage suffers from a delusional on Grandeur.
Right now as far as I am concerned Trump can do no wrong. He an Reince Priebus saved the Republican Party and I have taken an oath not to second guess his appointments. He has to trust the people around him. I think he’s doing great. (I’m so freaking happy this week!!!)
Give credit where credit is due. During primaries, it was the RNC chair, Priebus, who formed a wall around Trump campaign against the never-Trump candidates (Bush, Cruz, Kasich, Fiorina, and others).
Exactly!
