Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg hoped for a different outcome in last weeks election, but she made plain Monday that she accepts that Donald Trump will fill the Supreme Courts 9-month-old vacancy.
The 83-year-old justice said the most immediate impact on the court of Trumps election would be to fill the seat that Justice Antonin Scalia occupied until his death in February. President Trump will fill it, Ginsburg said in a question-and-answer session at a meeting of the Jewish Federations of North America in a Washington ballroom.
Ginsburg had criticized Trump in interviews last summer with The Associated Press and other news organizations, saying she did not want to consider the possibility that Trump could be elected. She apologized for her remarks soon thereafter.

Whack a mole! ...
Hes gonna fill yours too, ruthie.
We just accomplished the route in reverse, that we have always feared.
We just changed this nation for the next 50 years.
When Trump and Pence leave office, the SCOTUS will be secured until 2075.
Federal judicial appointments just went from bleak to super freak!
two vacancies... at least
yup. great first choice.
the real additional benefits will be on the circuit and appelate courts.
libs have overpacked them for decades.
"Do you believe in the Hereafter?"
"Um hum"
"Then you know what I'm here after"
Too late, she probably fills it every day.
I agree. I think Trump is a lot more likely to appoint a true judicial conservative just to spite Ginsburg.
Trump might get FOUR appointments! replacing 1 conservative (scalia) 2 liberals (ginsberg, breyer) and 1 moderate (kennedy).
That might leave the court with 7 to 3 conservative majority !
As far as I'm concerned, that's the only criteria that matters in nominating judges.
Trump says some bogosities* and everyone is taking him literally clutching her pearls, declaring him a sexist. Bader Ginsburg says that she’ll quit if Trump is elected, no one takes her literally. So all this time, she’s philosophizing, making decisions, writing opinions. Even if she steps down Jan. 20, it’s not soon enough. Where’s the outrage?
Lemme see... what kind of pick would drive Ginsburg to retirement the fastest?
Judge Moore would be a perfect choice!
I wish she would just die already
Bow to your sensei!!
I want a rabid arch conservative appointed.
Wow, did they teach you that in law school (in my Marissa Tomei “My Cousin Vinny” voice)?
Too old.
I want strict pro-life, pro 2nd amendment jurists under the age of 50 with longevity in their genes.
