Donald Trump has moved into the lead over Hillary Clinton, 44% to 43% with two days left before Election Day, according to the latest IBD/TIPP presidential tracking poll. And the number of states in play is expanding.
The GOP and Democratic nominees had been tied for the prior four days. Libertarian Party pick Gary Johnson is at 5% while the Green Party's Jill Stein is at 2%.
(Excerpt) Read more at investors.com ...
The Libertarians best showing was 1980 with Ed Clark and 1.06% of the vote. Second best was 2012 with Johnson at 0.99%.
Johnson may be surprisingly coherent for someone who walks around stoned all the time -- but I'd be amazed if he does much better than Ed Clark (who was actually a libertarian).
Considering that this is a tracking poll, yesterday’s polling showed them a sharp movement towards Trump. This looks like things are breaking our way. Hopefully, the trend will be confirmed tomorrow.
Fresh surveys in states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Hampshire and Colorado suggest that they may be in reach for the GOP nominee.
They ARE in reach and he gets these, he’s the president.
The democrat/media talking point is Trump leads among white, uneducated men. This is supposed to make you fear the KKK and want to vote for Hillary.
I wish we had places Freepers could meet on Tuesday. I need someone to hold my hand Tuesday!!!
I’m going to the local restaurant, have a steak and a couple of Martoonies while watching their TV in the bar.
“The democrat/media talking point is Trump leads among white, uneducated men. This is supposed to make you fear the KKK and want to vote for Hillary.”
Why don’t they frame it succinctly and simply state “The Deplorables.”
Yep on a poll on tues. They’re going to do exit polling all day. We’ll see how long they keep it up if it’s a blowout for Trump...
Oh, I know how you feel! i wish you were in Los Angeles!
I looked on the local news and there are places having big viewing parties. i’d like to be among mostly Repubs. 8o)
Fox News citing early voting called Nevada for Clinton this AM.
Check my bellwether Vigo county, Indiana. Polls close at 6:00 EST. Good gauge of the nation overall (not perfect). Obama won big there 2008 and barely in 2012. Will give you a good overall impression of how things will go.
How do I check Vigo County? I hope you post it ... I’ll check in.
Sigh, you always have to take early voting with a grain of salt. Obama had like a 500k early vote lead in NC in 2012 and lost by 2%. Nearly every poll show Trump tied or ahead in Nevada.
Mr. Trump is in Minneapolis today.
Mr. Pence is in Duluth on Monday.
Both members of the ticket in D-Lock Minnesota one and two days before the election???
There is no doubt that something special is about to occur.
Last night, Trump exposed this narrative, saying that it was only concentrating on early voting from Clark County.
Bill Mitchell discounted it as well on his twitter.
What is the rationale for this breakdown?
What was the breakdown in 2012?
This is the “narrative” that Fox News has been pushing for over a year:
“The other day I turned on Fox News and was presented with Britt Hume opining on the state of conservatism and where it goes after the election. Im going from memory, but he said something like, The Conservative Movement was about low taxes, small government, muscular foreign policy and opposition to abortion, among other things.
He then went on to point out that Trump is none of those things and that those issues are not featured in his campaign.
What struck me about what he said is there was no trace of self-awareness. No mention of the fact that the Conservative Movement lost on all but the foreign policy stuff, and that has been a disaster.
The tax bite has not changed very much since the 50s, despite endless rounds of tax cuts and tax reform. Government has grown like a weed and social issues have all moved in one direction, with amazing speed at times.
A theme here over the years has been the fact that the Conservative Movement has managed to conserve nothing. The reason they are in a crisis is the same reason a losing ball coach finds himself in jeopardy.
People will tolerate only so much losing. A salesman, who cannot close deals, gets fired, even if he is the nicest guy in the world. Whats happening today is Official Conservatism is being fired.......”
