Fox News citing early voting called Nevada for Clinton this AM.
Sigh, you always have to take early voting with a grain of salt. Obama had like a 500k early vote lead in NC in 2012 and lost by 2%. Nearly every poll show Trump tied or ahead in Nevada.
Last night, Trump exposed this narrative, saying that it was only concentrating on early voting from Clark County.
Bill Mitchell discounted it as well on his twitter.
Like, are the votes already tallied and posted for the public to see? Give me a break!
There are more registered Democrats in Nevada than registered Republicans. So it stands to reason that Democrats will "lead" in the early voting, as they are more heavily represented. Until the votes are counted, we will not know how many of those Democrats crossed over to Trump. The assumption FoxNews appears to be making, that every single (or even 90%) one of those Democrats voted for Crooked Hillary is very likely a false one.
Democrats voting for Trump are very unlikely to change their registration to Republican. We will see this across the nation as well, especially in the Rust Belt, where Trump will do very well among blue-collar men who are registered as Democrats. But when they go to the polls, they will be seen as Democrats. I don't see many Trump voters switching from Democrat to Repubican. Why would they, given the state of the Republican party overall?
As well, there are a substantial amount of Independents in Nevada.
In Nevada, there are approx. 570K registered Democrats, 490K registered Republicans and 310K Independents.
If there is a 60-40 split among Independents in favor of Trump, it becomes a very close race and if enough Democrats cross over to Trump, he can win. If it's a 70-30 split in favor of Trump, which some are predicting, then we likely have a Trump win in spite of the Dem/Rep gap. This appears to be what the polls are picking up on and why Trump has made recent visits to the state.
