Okay Utah, time to get real - a vote for Evan McClinton is a vote for Hillary. Please don't!

This McNuthin or McMuffin guy is out to defeat Trump - which means to elect Hillary. That makes him Evan McClinton in my book. For me this is personal: Utah Republicans, please don't hurt my family by helping McClinton elect Hillary !

Is his name printed on the ballot in Utah?
I know my ballot here in Texas there is a “Write in” option but you would actually have write the name in as it is not printed on the ballot.

They already know that they’re voting for Hillary (without actually voting for Hillary), but too many of the magic-underpants cultists have already drank the Kool-Aid and may not be able to sober up by election day. Trump should still eke this out, and may need to.

It is what it is. I couldn’t bring myself to vote for Romney in 2012, and I don’t regret it. Their priorities are not our priorities. Let’s spend our emotional energies on something more productive. 48 years later, do we still wring our hands over states that voted for George Wallace over Nixon?
I would understand it better if Orrin Hatch hadn’t gotten along so well with Ted Kennedy.

There are more than romneybot-compliant Mormons here in UT. Most people think the guy is a phony, a never-Trumper and a loser. He’[ll get some misguided votes but I’d predict fewer than 10% of the vote. Meh!

I see FOX, and CNN are giving a lot of air time.
They are doing everything they can to stop Trump.
So you go and vote for the next President, but you know this guy is only in Utah, so why the hell do these people not understand that a vote for him is a vote for Clinton?
Are they seriously that stupid, and as for Romney FU and your establishment elitist trolls.

My grandmother likes this guy. She thinks if he can put the election into the House of Representatives they'll choose McMullin to be President.
I had to explain that since the establishment GOP hates Trump and the House is run by GOPe stooge Paul Ryan, putting it into the House guarantees HRC becomes the president. Further, I explained that having the presidency decided by the House is a great way to move us towards an honest to God, no s###, civil war. Whoever loses in the house, that side will believe they were cheated. It doesn't matter that the law was followed...it will matter how people feel about it, and that is the basis on which they will proceed.
She doesn't get it. She thinks it's a grevious sin to vote for the lesser of two evils when both evils are significant, and she doesn't think she can justify a vote for Trump in front of God. For myself, *I* don't want to be the one trying to explain to God why I didn't do the best I was able to stop the most radically pro-abortion, pro-infanticide American presidential candidate in history. But that's just me.
Some people cannot be made to understand.

I'll add a little to my previous post.
As Christians we should prefer Christians for elected office where possible, but we have to face facts. America is not a majority Christian nation any longer. We are not always going to get ideal candidates. This is to be expected. However, what is not expected is taking actions to install the most virulently of anti-Christian candidates in office under the auspices of some kind moral stand. If we compare all of our leaders to Jesus we will always be disappointed, and choosing to vote for no one because our choices fall short in certain areas is crazy.
Constantine the Great wasn't a very nice guy either, but God did choose Constantine, despite many flaws, to do His work. Same for the emperor of Persia when it came time to rebuild Jerusalem.
While we should prefer candidates of good character, we must guard against becoming the pharisees. They were so "righteous" that God could use no one but themselves for His work, or so they believed. It is an easy folly to fall into and I see rumblings of it in Utah.

My Mother in law is s Dem, thankfully lives in MA where her vote does not really matter, but she calls herself Catholic, and still votes for this woman.
Some people are way beyond stupid and ignorant.
Ask her should illegals be legal, should illegals get welfare, should a baby be killed a day before it is born, should two men marry, should muslims come over not vetted and the answer is always no.
Yet she still votes for all of it.
Like I said thankfully she is nowhere near me, and her vote is void up in MA.

My guess is that Evan McMullin was paid millions of dollars by Team Hillary (or more precisely by an independent PAC that thought no one could prove collusion with the candidate) to split the anti-Hillary vote.
Evan McMullin actually does have a chance of becoming president. If a Trump squeaker win is disrupted by Evan McMullin taking Utah, then the three top vote getters in the Electoral College will be Hillary, Trump, and McMullin. Congress hates Trump, and they fear Hillary. Given their feelings regarding the alternatives, they probably would vote for Evan McMullin as the next president of the United States, in accordance with Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution.

I don't agree. What I think congress would do is 1) the Dems would vote HRC in a straight party vote, 2) the Reps would be split on McMullin and Trump, with Trump getting the most votes, but fewer than HRC. HRC becomes President. Some Republicans would even vote HRC outright.
I could be wrong of course, but I think if the election goes to congress it's almost for sure we get HRC.
