A new report slams the Obama administration for “politicizing” the Department of Justice by funneling fines slapped onto big banks into the coffers of left-wing groups.
Peter Schweizer, the president of the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) and author of the book “Clinton Cash,” discussed the GAI’s new report called “Follow the Money: How the Department of Justice Funds Progressive Activists,” during a Tuesday interview on “The Laura Ingraham Show.”
In the report, the GAI detailed its discovery of how the Justice Department took over $600 million in fines levied against major financial institutions for various crimes and used the money to help fund leftist groups – instead of granting the funds to the parties injured by the banks.

i wrote my congressional “representatives” (all republicans) asking what congressional oversight there was over the multiple fines being levied against companies and banks. two did not respond; the other indicated the DOJ was responsible for distributing the fines to victims.
Essentially all three were clueless and had no interest in oversight. This is the result.
And according to the DOJ, we’re supposed to report election fraud to them.

Why the hell wouldn’t it go to the victims or at least the govt general fund instead of some PAC/Social org?

If this is true, it is intolerable. I heard some mention of this a few months ago, then it dropped off the radar. I can’t see any legal justification for handing over the proceeds from fines over to favored activist groups. This would seemingly be an illegal and unauthorized disbursement of government funds without legislative approval. Is this yet one more situation where our vaunted “adversarial media” are covering for the Obama administration?
Trump should use this with Black voters.
The Democrats keep promising to get you reparations from “the man”. But do you ever see any of that money?

Seems like fines like that should go into paying down the deficit. But were those fines even legit? Seemed like shakedowns, in the name of wealth redistribution.
This lawless thieving must be stopped.
In a normal world it would be called embezzling. We bail out the banks to the tune of trillions of dollars then the DOJ shakes them down and siphons off their cut. The MOB is a fairer form of government at this point.
