The Obama administration is threatening to launch a vast cyber war against Russia in response to the countrys alleged interference with the presidential election.
Vice President Joe Biden told NBC News Friday that were sending a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin and that the wide-ranging clandestine cyber operation will take place.
Were sending a message, Biden said during an interview with Meet the Press that will air on Sunday. We have the capacity to do it. It will be at the time of our choosing, and under the circumstances that will have the greatest impact,
The vice president belittled Russias alleged interference in the US election but stressed their efforts, however futile, would be responded in kind.
Their capacity to fundamentally alter the election is not what people think, Biden said.
And I tell you what, to the extent that they do we will be proportional in what we do.
It was not clear whether the American public would be alerted when or if an attack actually took place. When asked about whether the public would even be aware an attack took place Biden simply said Hope not.
Intelligence officials told NBC News that CIA has already begun opening cyber doors, selecting targets and making other preparations for an operation.
James Stavridis, a retired four-star Navy admiral who served as the supreme allied commander at NATO, told NBC that the CIA should embarrass the Kremlin by exposing financial dealings of Putin and his cronies.

Russia is not our enemy, he’s Hillary’s.
Lol!
Good one. Great movie (The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly).
I actually knew him back in the 90s. He died just short of 100 a few years ago.
“The Russians are paranoid and could strike first because of the Biden statement.”
Yeah, there is that. Even in our current depleted state, we’re still an existential threat to them.
Russia ....... counters. Germany follows as does many other nations.
Biggest idiots on the planet. They’re planning a “secret attack” by TELLING the Russians about it. LOL!
Hopefully this will tick off the Russians where they really WILL interfere in the election and make Hillary lose.
Coming from the same guy who outed Seal Team 6? Is anyone surprised at his utter recklessness?
Yeah, but to blame the big bully on the world block and starting another Cold War just to cover up your dirty tracks is beyond comprehension. Three hundred million plus American lives are being risked in a game of chicken between the Uniparty incompetents and the Russian lion. Who would you put your money on?
“Idiots. Once again we yell out to our enemies”
Oh, it’s much worse than that. Russia is not the “enemy” of the American people.
Obama and Hillary are.
“Hopefully this will tick off the Russians where they really WILL interfere in the election and make Hillary lose.”
Why such small hope? Hopefully, this will tick off the Russians and they will take out Washington D.C....and free the American people from their slavery.
The Russians are WAY ahead of the US when it comes to network engineering. WAY ahead. We created networking companies, but that’s the easy part. The controlling network software was poorly designed and written and the Russians know exactly how to exploit that.
I’m actually going over my very real plans of quickly exiting to th UP of Michigan the moment these retards provoke a war.
This is seriously a bit unnerving.
I doubt the the Russians are going to step back accept this frontal attack....I think we have much more to lose in cyber-warfare retaliation....
The Ukraine and Crimea is Russia-has been for centuries.
We have no business sending an armada into the Black Sea.
Our problem is Radical Islam and their enablers in DC and people like you.
Putin and Co couldn't have hoped for a more accommodating administration than the O admin. Obama gave away the store to them on American security with those horrible (for us) missile defense and nuke deals, including the Iran nuke deal, which Putin loves and claims to have played a major role in. The Russians are very slick. Don't so easily fall for everything that they say. They are masters of the art of deception. Great chess players, thinking many moves ahead of their opponents, while most of us, it seems, suck at simple checkers. This is what they bank on.
You're an ass...
Donald Trump slammed President Obama Thursday on TODAY for failing to take a stronger line against President Vladimir Putin in dealing with Ukraine, saying he feared Obama would now make up for lost time with imprudent moves to "show his manhood."
The real estate mogul and reality-TV star, who has criticized Putin for sending military troops into Crimea, said Obama must now take fierce steps to prevent the situation from escalating further.
"We should definitely do sanctions and we have to show some strengths. I mean, Putin has eaten Obama's lunch, therefore our lunch, for a long period of time," Trump said. ..."

Many Ukrainians believe you need look no further than the face of Viktor Yushchenko to understand Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
Once smooth and ruggedly handsome, it still bears the scars from an assassination attempt when someone slipped dioxin into Yushchenko's food. ..."

Ignore the red and orange lines. They were already on the map when I downloaded it.
Also, this cyber war plan is a really bad idea. The Russians are really good at it; their population lives largely at a lower technology level and are used to hardship. If the Russians take down the power grid or disrupt the internet, how long would the average US citizen put up with the war (or survive)?
Hey Joe Biden, 1996 called, they want the word “cyber” back...
Then they're not "intelligence" officials...
