A majority of Texans oppose building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and banning immigration from countries with terrorism ties, two of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's most high-profile immigration proposals, according to a new poll by the Texas Lyceum.
Fifty-nine percent of Texans surveyed said they were against building a wall to stop illegal immigration, while 35 percent supported the plan.

... about the only that a poll like this is correct ...
So Mrs. Bill Clinton is leading Trump 59-35 in Texas? Yeah, right.
Based on the headline I was about to ask if the Austin American-Statesman was a liberal rag?
What was this? A survey of students on campus in Austin?
Did they poll anyone in border counties or only residents of Travis County?
banning immigration from countries with terrorism ties,

Yeah well you can have them on your street since you think its a great idea...
Go ahead invite them over for that pig roast...
they’ll help with the fire...
Austin is the very bluest liberal city in all Texas and maybe the southwest. not a surprise.

Austin.....yeah.
“I was about to ask if the Austin American-Statesman was a liberal rag? “...........
First, consider where the “poll” was taken.
Second, those who were “polled”. (My bet is they are mostly of Hispanic origin and have family and relatives still making their way to/across the border).
Third, Austin is the Texas capital for liberals and demodummies.
If anything, Texas needs a western border wall to keep the California lefties from coming into their state.
If 59% of Texans really opposed the wall, that would make the wall even more important.
You beat me to it.
Austin American Statesman. Only one of the three words is true.
The survey results from the Texas Lyceum, a nonprofit association for young Texas leaders, were based on phone interviews with 1,000 Texas adults regardless of their citizenship or voting status. Polls of likely voters typically show more support for conservative priorities like strict immigration
1% of Texans would not understand “no comprende”.
The Austin American Statesman does not and has never represented Texans. It is an Austin wrag.
The Austin American-Traitor is the definitive liberal rag.
in other news 59% of christians hate god..... jeesh
Why is this poll even posted? It is a telephone poll of 1000 adults without regard for whether the respondents are even citizens much less even registered to vote
Another Texas Poll.
The Texas Tribune/University of Texas poll finds that 53 percent of Texas registered voters claim to somewhat or strongly support Trumps proposal to ban non-U.S. citizen Muslims from entering the country. Though it should shock no one that Republicans are generally favorable of the idea, registered Democrats significant approval of the same helps to justify the polls headline finding. Roughly 26% of Texas Democrats at least somewhat supported the plan with an additional eight percent still uncertain. Just more than 50 percent of independents

Apparently they surveyed 15 people in San Antonio. 6 of them were from Tiajuana.
