Sen. Tim Kaine accused Donald Trump of “chumming around” with the the Klu-Klux-Klan, asserting that Hillary Clinton was merely talking about white supremacists when she referred to half of his supporters as a “basket of deplorables.”

Why is there not a firestorm of even greater magnitude regarding the COMMUNIST PARTY supporting Hillary Clinton?

Has Morning Joe gotten the vapors over Hillary NOT denouncing Robert Byrd? Or over Bill Clinton not denouncing his mentor Senator J. William Fulbright?
Sen Byrd and Fulbright and were the real racists of the Jim Crow South - men with power and influence. Men who used their power to caused damage to blacks and poor whites... men who were monsters.. Men who were 'elites' in their time.
The KKK in it's day was part of the Southern Establishment... Joe and Mika with their contempt for everyday Americans would have fit in with those 'elites' from a different time... same breezy contempt for working people - same tone of superiority.
I lived in the Jim Crow South - I recognize the pattern.
And David Duke? He's a powerless loser. He's glommed onto an old horror that never would have accepted him in it's hay-day. Is there anyone here who thinks Robert Byrd with his airs of superiority or William Fulbright with delusion of being an elite intellectual would have accepted the likes of a David Duke?

Hollywood has pushed the myth that Southern Racists were working class... that is NOT the case. They were the 'elite' of their time and included Newspaper Publishers, Politicians, and top businessmen. None of them would have had anything to do with a David Duke type.
Condemning someone who pretends he has the power of the Jim Crow monsters - condemning David Duke is a waste of reality. Duke's picked up a symbol... a powerful symbol of horrible humans - but his hate is impotent. Without the symbol he's nothing more than a white gas station jockey with racial rage or a black gang banger in Chicago who hates whites.

He ran as a Democrat for president in a joke of a campaign in 1988. Then in 1992 he ran as a Republican for the same office. He’s not really of either party, he’s a white supremacist and neither party supports that. He chooses whatever party he thinks will be most likely to get him a victory. But he did win office at the state level running as a Republican so that’s the one that sticks to him.
I am getting so tired of this TRUMP is with the Klan crap.

There are a lot of signs--particularly with the increased demands on the Left for Trump's tax returns--that they are going to pull out all stops to avoid the actual issues, by an endless stream of smears based upon claimed associations.
That is why they want his tax returns. They want to look for any business connection with anyone they can smear--such as a Chinese bank, which rents space from him; and smear Donald by that smear of someone with whom he had a business--not ideological connection. We need to be alert to this. They have no legitimate argument. This is desperation; but it can be effective if we take the bait and go on the Defensive.
We need to (1) stick to the actual issues; (2) respond to smear associations very briefly, but right to the point.
Hillary made millions of dollars selling Government contacts for money donated to her syndicate (Clinton Foundation). What Trump has sold to tenants is space in his achieved property. He has never sold his integrity; she has done so repeatedly. Make the point and pivot back to the actual issues involved in putting America First--as the Constitution requires.
I guess Duke’s sort of like the Westboro Baptist leaders
who endorsed Gore & threw a fundraiser at their “church”
for Gore.
