The ink was barely dry on Dells acquisition of EMC, the largest technology deal ever, valued at $67 billion when it was announced in October last year and already the layoff rumors are oozing from the woodwork.

But Dell needs to save some money, one way or the other. Dells corporate credit rating is at the upper end of junk. Its loaded to the gills with debt, stemming from when it was taken private. Now the EMC deal has piled new debt on the company, including $20 billion of bonds it sold in May, followed by a $5-billion leveraged loan.

Since our country’s economy is based on competition, this move should surprise no one.
People still buying Dells?
The cheap labor express continues, supported by constitutional conservatives such as Bush, Cruz, Kasich, Rubio, Fiorina and a slew of conservative pundits.
It’s not competition when you import people to take American jobs. If Dell can’t survive using American workers then they deserve to go out of business, but under no circumstances should they be able to displace American workers with cheap foreign labour.

Intel did the same thing two years ago.
The day after the 5k people were forced to take early retirement, 1000 jobs opened up in India.
Probably a bunch more were hired after I left.
So I’ll paint the picture. Dell, perhaps manufactured and sold more PCs than anyone in history took on tons of debt to finance their privatization. Now to finance the largest tech merger in history they take on more debt. Each time undoubtedly corporate officers get a giant piece of pie.
Now to correct the balance sheets they are firing U.S. workers and importing cheaper foreign labor, and our immigration system is so chaotic because of progressive meddling this will be allowed to happen. Also the SEC is AWOL.
Does that about sum it up? We allow this to happen, we pay for it to happen and we have no advocate to stop it from happening. So much for “of the people, by the people, and for the people.
At Dell, this is status quo.
People are a disposable commodity, use them, abuse them, then manufacture a reason to justify firing them - by the thousands. If you look at the makeup of the Dell personnel, you will see a significant number of non-Americans there. India, China, Pakistan, Scotland and other countries are significantly higher than in other competitive companies.
Why? Because when their Visa expires, Dell may start a design shop in that country and they have American trained employees ready to start that effort; taking jobs from entire departments in America with them.
Dell simply uses American tax advantages to gain a foothold to expand. They have no loyalty to America or Americans whatsoever. All you have to do is look at how they treat their employees, to get a clue. The number of unnecessary layoffs in America is staggering.
We make a nice duet
In the enterprise EMC devices and VMware are a VERY big deal.
They go chapter 11 and a company that manages themselves properly gets to buy, at reduced price, any profitable product lines.
Kid 2: "Aw, crap!"
Serious ammo for for Trump.
The bank/Wall Street debt parade.... US workers displaced by the H-1B imports....
There are very, very few corporations in the U.S. where that is not status quo.
Really??? They just bought up the competition, that they couldn't even afford to buy...
Dell.. Putting America LAST. These H1-B visas are insane corporate welfare. The taxpayer will get stuck paying for welfare benefits for those that don’t find jobs.
Dude. I am NOT getting a Dell.
The answer for starters reduce corporate taxes and regulations. Ask work force to pay some of the health care cost. Ask the head honchos what would help them change their position. Employees who don’t get replaced in are not happy because they know they are toast also. I went through this with HP.
As a Senior Software Architect I can completely vouch for the mediocrity and limited creative ability of most H1-B employees. It’s their culture and their educational model which limits their ability to do almost any but the most mundane programming tasks. When we talk to our talent acquisition folks at my current company we always put in RWBs only when requesting resources...code for Red White and Blues.... To sum it up Indian programmers generally suck. Not all but generally. When I get in an argument with any of my millennial liberal hipster engineers. I ask...”Name me one great Indian or Russian software company??” Always it’s crickets... Russians talk too damn much and overinflate their intelligence, and usually have issues with direction, criticism and making deadlines and Indians puff up their resume and have the creative ability of a Spider Monkey.
