The answer for starters reduce corporate taxes and regulations. Ask work force to pay some of the health care cost. Ask the head honchos what would help them change their position. Employees who don’t get replaced in are not happy because they know they are toast also. I went through this with HP.
“back in the day” EMC used to give me ulcers ,, HDA crashes on a regular basis ... I don’t know about their current products but they’ve historically been bottom of the barrel and would have been bankrupt if back in the 1980’s IBM hadn’t temporarily halted 3380 production (to fix a quality issue) giving them a foothold in enterprise computing.
Amazon builds their own commodity servers. Again if an overextended company put together an overextended deal where their only option is now laying off employees and bringing in indentured servants let them go bankrupt.
Let a better company pick up the technology at a discount and run it for a profit properly. What's the point of keeping too many companies around if they need cheap labor to make them successful?
