The news organization says it does not have any legal obligation to provide a comments section because NPR indirectly receives federal funding.

“Why would Nasty Pervert Radio be frightened of public comments?”
I have seen a lot of online negative comments towards Hillary on several news and social media sites.

NPR is making a good case to have any type of Federal aid ended by this policy.
NPR’s policy is to prevent the public from having a real time outlet to voice their own opinions. That is fine, you will go completely private and quit taking the public’s money then.

My local news outlet will close comments for certain stories.
Another uses heavily biased mods that will delete certain comments without provocation, while leaving leftist comments alone.

Mmmmm K....
Are they creating controversy for viewership?
Why would they have a legal obligation to offer comments anyway?

There was a night that WXRGina and I went after Murray the Lib at WAMU-FM with quite a froth going. I know that had to have some sort of influence, right, Gina?
Since the poor widdle snowflakes can't take the heat from their listeners, I guess they don't want our tax subsidies after Trump takes office. They can just sell a few more coffee mugs to their hive drones - they love to display them on a shelf in their cubicle farms. Flashing their insufferable elitism for all to see is their way of covering up their emotional defects and massive self-esteem problems (and a few Mommy issues, I'm sure).

Our local liberal newspaper had anonymous comments for many years. And yes, the Left was constantly hammered with facts.
The newspaper stories were also often debunked. And I always was amazed at how they allowed comments that made them look so biased and foolish.
Finally a few years ago they cut out anonymous comments and just put Facebook comments on. Well, as predicted the Left would read the Facebook info of any conservative commenters and threaten their jobs and family using the info. Now practically nobody comments at all - which is what they wanted.
Hilariously, before they went down I predicted in comments they would delete all the previous comments because now all their debunked stories would suddenly become true again. The editors commented and denied it. But sure enough, they were all deleted and the editor said it was all a big mistake when I emailed her. Right. Of course, I never commented on there again.

To: Forgotten Amendments
Wow.
Some of us remember when there was one comment line.
I guess they were overwhelmed by FR type people so they instituted Republican, Democrat, and Independent, call-in lines. Then they instituted once-a-month call-in rules. And now they just can't handle the web comments, which is sort of amazing to me, as I would never watch their bilge to be able to comment.

NPR is a lying government agitprop arm for mass indoctrination and disinformation so they can control the narrative (emotions of the masses).
As Solzhenitsyn accurately stated in 1978 at his Harvard Commencement Speech (which contained TRUTH-—that which NPR hates), he stated that the “news outlets” in America are WORSE THAN PRAVDA........
The elites took over the “news” and information outlets (publishing companies/newspapers/radio, TV/Hollywood) so they could control ALL YOUR THOUGHTS AND DESIRES———it is call BRAINWASHING or PROGRAMMING-—or as their 30s book called it: Psychopolitics
Only since the internet has little islands of “truth” been available.
Wundt and Fichte knew how to take the curricula and control the minds of the masses whom go through their skool system of mass indoctrination. America with local control took an extra 80 years to destroy to create the useful, ignorant, dumb useful idiots.

Comments sections on all websites are generally ill-tempered and rude these days. Mood of the country.
Probably the reason it’s so quiet around here. Seems like there’s no place for respectful debate anymore.

Local paper here doesn’t even allow thumbs up on a comment without a Facebook membership. USAToday hasn’t allowed just thumbs alone for years. Since I haven’t been there for years that might have changed.

I have a technical solution I am working on, for these bastards.
THEY WILL HAVE COMMENTS WHETHER THEY WANT THEM OR NOT.
