Activists for black lives release plans to "Shut Down Graceland"
by: Zach Crenshaw Updated: Aug 15, 2016 - 8:39 AM Loading
It's been the summer of protests, and now another one is planned.
The Coalition of Concerned Citizens, including Black Lives Matter protesters and others groups announced their plan to "Shut Down Graceland."
Protest leaders say the mass demonstration is planned for 6:00 PM Monday. They said they specifically chose Graceland because it is Elvis week and they know it will raise awareness.

Leaders say they also chose Graceland because "it demonstrates one of Memphis's most common forms of financial inequality and because the site has ties to...the death of unarmed teen Darrius Stewart."
We feel like we still haven't been answered," said Frank Gottie, a community leader. "They're givin us the runaround."

If carried out, the Elvis Week demonstration will be the third high-profile protest by Black Lives Matter and other groups in the last month.
Most recently in front of Graceland, where some protesters were detained for blocking traffic.

Elvis was a high level black belt ...
Because it wouldn't work, the media would just say it was Republicans that did it.
and they want the White Man to pay for their tour ?
Shut down Graceland to hurt whitey? Anyone who has ever spent any time in Memphis knows how laughable this is.
Do I need to carry a baseball bat with me?
Use Wasp\Hornet spray. It has a range of over 20 feet and you don’t have to explain to a judge why you have it in you car.
Oh, they'll raise awareness, alright. Won't be the sort of awareness they're intending, though.
Most people are sick to death of the thuggish culture, entitled victimhood, and senseless violence these people are perpetrating on the rest of the country.
Memphis is a typical Mississippi River town - with all the same problems that have been there since the steamboat era.
It's a strong strategy that's must be used since it's the only weapon the Hillary Campaign possesses.
You'll be fine. If you stay at the new hotel next to Graceland you don't even have to leave the premises. They're not going to let the thugs overrun the main tourist attraction in town. Just wear your Elvis suit...

I understand that Nashville is over 50% black now...
I have very liberal very democrat relatives who keep moving farther and farther away from Nashville, lol...wonder why...of course, they can't say the real reason.
When Donald Trump is elected, and it will be by a landslide, I expect him to initiate an investigation into BLM that will result in them be identified for what they are: a domestic terrorist group with ties to Soros, who also needs to be paid a visit by some of our folks who officially don’t exist.

Elvis Presley and Racism : The Ultimate, Definitive Guide

Elvis & Racism, Elvis Articles, By David Troedson
In 1957, a magazine printed a lie about Elvis, not the first one, not the last one, but one that has been often passed on through the years and at times artists of today like to throw out the slur when needing a headline, so there are those that believe Elvis was racist. Yes, we know that the notion that Elvis was a racist is preposterous. It’s as stupid now as it was then, but here is our definitive response to this nonsense.
When the ‘establishment’ accused Elvis Presley of being vulgar, of being deliberately sexual, they did not mean this. This was the cover for what was really meant, what was really feared, and that was that Elvis would lead to equal rights and racial integration. And not just Elvis any white person singing rock ‘n’ roll. Carl Perkins was warned to not do his show. Elvis was simply the number one guy and therefore got the most attention.
Following his ‘Milton Berle’ show, Elvis was savaged by critics who described his leg-shaking, hip-swivelling performance as ‘noxious’ and his singing as ‘caterwauling’. Often the criticism had a racist edge, since Elvis was singing what was considered ‘black music’. One critic summed up his performance as ‘the kind of animalism that should be confined to dives and bordellos’. A Catholic weekly ran its criticism under the banner, ‘Beware of Elvis Presley’. Ilva Price, an African American now living in West Memphis, TN, recalled how her father, angry about rumours (later found by ‘Jet’ magazine to be fabricated), that Elvis had stolen ‘their’ music and was a racist, quickly turned off the radio when he noticed her daughter’s reaction to his voice, then called him a ‘cracker’, a racial epithet as disgusting as any other ... : Boston Globe Interview by Renee Graham, published on August 11, 2002.
Sammy Davis Jr : ‘I have a respect for Elvis and my friendship. It ain’t my business what he did in private. The only thing I want to know is, ‘Was he my friend?’, ‘Did I enjoy him as a performer?’, ‘Did he give the world of entertainment something?’ - and the answer is YES on all accounts. The other jazz just don’t matter’. ‘Early on somebody told me that Elvis was black. And I said ‘No, he’s white but he’s down-home’. And that is what it’s all about. Not being black or white it’s being ‘down-home’ and which part of down-home you come from’.
‘On a scale of one to ten, I would rate Elvis eleven’.
James Brown
James Brown and Elvis Presley were good friends and admired each others talents. James authored two books, and one contains this quote about Elvis: ‘I wasn’t just a fan, I was his brother. He said I was good and I said he was good; we never argued about that. Elvis was a hard worker, dedicated, and God loved him ... I love him and hope to see him in heaven. There’ll never be another like that soul brother’.
James was was one of the celebrities who attended Elvis’ funeral. George Klein : ‘One of the first phone calls I remember receiving came from James Brown, who wanted to tell me how broken up he was over the news. He asked if he could come to the house during the private viewing’. ‘I checked with Priscilla to make sure it was all right, and late in the afternoon James came up to join us - the first of many major artists to pay their respects. ‘I remember being taken aback by how truly distraught James was ... Then he sat motionless in the corner of the living room for a long while before joining the rest of the mourners in the den. In his autobiography, Brown wrote, ‘His death hit me very hard. When he died, I said, ‘That’s my friend, I have to go’.

-—And THAT is exactly why Trump has been aggressively targeting the MSM
.
.
.
Are are absolutely correct.
The meme this weekend I noticed was all the uni-party pundits expounding on how Trump (for his own sake) needs to get on message and stop attacking the media, as it shows (according to them, that he cannot focus and is easily distracted, and also shows he doesn’t have the temperment to be POTUS).
I say hogwash.
First, he IS on message at his rallies and every interview he does (and Hillary doesn’t do interviews and can’t get enough folks for a rally, she has “fund raisers”). He gets off topic when ASKED about something.
His 2nd Amend comments WERE specifically talking about the issues, ie the 2nd Amend.
Donald MUST continue to point out media bias, call them out when they are lying, and drive home the point to the American people that SOMEONE running for office is on their side, and understands the crooked media.
They are all upset that they may not be the anointed king-makers in this election cycle, though they are still trying their damnedest.
Trump has proven he can walk and chew gum at the same time.
a lotta Elvis fans probably add up to more than Black Lies Matter folks.
If the Elvis fans get pissed, it could be interesting.
The thing is that primarily Blacks are employed at Graceland to handle tourists, etc.
Those employees will be out of a job because of any protests or boycotts, including fear by tourists of visiting there.
And just like all of these Democrat towns and cities that have been destroyed by Black rioters, the people most suffering from loss of jobs, loss of places to shop have been and always will be Black residents and Black business owners.
Whites have long ago fled those areas.
When the establishment accused Elvis Presley of being vulgar, of being deliberately sexual, they did not mean this.....You mean Democrats?
