Trump hints at assassination of Hillary Clinton by gun rights supporters

Donald Trump has hinted at the assassination of Hillary Clinton by supporters of gun rights.

The Republican nominee was speaking at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, about the next president’s power to appoint supreme court justices. “If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks,” he said, adding: “Although the second amendment people – maybe there is, I don’t know.”

The second amendment to the constitution protects the right of Americans to bear arms. Trump has accused his Democratic rival of wanting to abolish it, a charge that she denies. “This is simple – what Trump is saying is dangerous,” said Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook. “A person seeking to be the president of the United States should not suggest violence in any way.”

Jason Miller, a communications adviser for the Trump campaign, attempted to explain the candidate’s comments. “It’s called the power of unification,” he said. “Second amendment people have amazing spirit and are tremendously unified, which gives them great political power. And this year, they will be voting in record numbers, and it won’t be for Hillary Clinton, it will be for Donald Trump.”

I miss his speeches, not his taking cash for nefarious reasons.

“A person seeking to be the president of the United States should not suggest violence in any way.”...precisely why Trump is doing as well as he is right now - people are tired of the PC nonsense which proscribes what they can and can't say acceptably - it was a joke - so imprecise that no one knows exactly what he was talking about - people do have imaginations, fantasies, normals can tell the difference in thinking about something and actually doing it - those who are all upset about this first of all are just looking for an issue, but if they're serious they're at about the same level of idiocy as those school officials who banned the kid from first grade for drawing a picture of a gun.....

And it cements in peoples’ minds that Hillary is anti-Second Amendment.

You think they would have done this story even without this non-incident?

Spiro Agnew:

In 1973, Agnew was investigated by the United States Attorney for the District of Maryland on charges of extortion, tax fraud, bribery, and conspiracy. He was charged with having accepted bribes totaling more than $100,000 while holding office as Baltimore County Executive, Governor of Maryland, and Vice President. On October 10 that same year, Agnew was allowed to plead no contest to a single charge that he had failed to report $29,500 of income received in 1967, with the condition that he resign the office of Vice President. Nixon later replaced Agnew by appointing House Minority Leader Gerald Ford as Vice President. The following year, when Nixon resigned from the White House due to the Watergate scandal, Ford ascended to the presidency.

Agnew was the second Vice President in United States history to resign, the other being John C. Calhoun, and the only one to do so because of criminal charges. Nearly ten years after leaving office, Agnew paid the state of Maryland nearly $270,000 as a result of a civil suit that stemmed from the bribery allegations. In describing Agnew, Garry Wills borrows the backhanded compliment once paid Coolidge by H.L. Mencken: “No man ever came to market with less seductive goods, and no man ever got a better price for what he had to offer.” [3] Agnew is widely considered by historians to be among the worst Vice Presidents in the history of the United States.[4][5][6]

They will twist anything he says. Or make it up if he doesn’t. Enough already.

If these things are all it takes for Killary to win, then this country is doomed anyways.

It just sounds to me like he’s suggesting that people would mobilize opposition to Hillary’s judicial picks.

That's exactly how I read it to mean - they'd be driving their congresscritters bonkers. I, for one, would not want Mr. "The Shining" Kaine appointed president and I doubt any other sane person would either.

I so totally agree.......seems like when he’s handed a golden opportunity to elevate himself like the father of the terrorist in her rally OR to say the 50 or so former security advisors, politicians or whatever you want to call them denying him their vote when he could have said they’re part of the past and responsible for the mess were in today and leave it at that he steps into another pile of crap by saying what he said as an example of the supporters of the second amendment to take him to victory in November, here we go again. Now he wants her assassinated, which is what the media is running with. I’m a true, blue Trump supporter but dang Donald be careful what you say. You’re under a microscope and every word you say will be parsed to the point you won’t even recognize it as what you said and certainly not what you meant.

People in the control room should have been fired if they weren’t.

The commie lib public TV station I was at and even ran Chyron some would have canned everyone right there for a stunt like that.

Well then Trump better not say anything the rest of the campaign. Because the press will find a way to twist anything he says.

I agree with you; he had a good day yesterday with the Detroit Economic Speech and easily parried the agitprop letter signed by the 50 has-beens from the various Bush Administrations who have so screwed up US foreign policy, ruined both American lives and foreign countries in the process and seem intent on continuing to do so. He had a great opportunity today with the terrorist father as one of the Clinton honored guests; but we all know that he has now handed the media what they want - a chance to obscure this with 24-hour coverage of what at best will be called yet another gaffe, at worst, a mark of some dark, vicious intent by Trump. When was the last time you saw the media comment on anything bad that Hillary Clinton did or said? Never; tonight they would not have been able to avoid the terrorist’s fathers attendance story. Now they can - and will.
