Trump hints at assassination of Hillary Clinton by gun rights supporters
The Guardian ^ | August 9, 2016 | David Smith

Donald Trump has hinted at the assassination of Hillary Clinton by supporters of gun rights.

The Republican nominee was speaking at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, about the next president’s power to appoint supreme court justices. “If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks,” he said, adding: “Although the second amendment people – maybe there is, I don’t know.”

The second amendment to the constitution protects the right of Americans to bear arms. Trump has accused his Democratic rival of wanting to abolish it, a charge that she denies. “This is simple – what Trump is saying is dangerous,” said Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook. “A person seeking to be the president of the United States should not suggest violence in any way.”

Jason Miller, a communications adviser for the Trump campaign, attempted to explain the candidate’s comments. “It’s called the power of unification,” he said. “Second amendment people have amazing spirit and are tremendously unified, which gives them great political power. And this year, they will be voting in record numbers, and it won’t be for Hillary Clinton, it will be for Donald Trump.”

This election seems to have lasted forever. Still, we need to keep ourselves on the course. No candidate is perfect.

Kennedy ran against Nixon. I don’t remember that one.

I do; it was, and still remains, the gold standard for electoral cheating...

Johnson ran against Goldwater. That was vicious, for sure.

Goldwater was hated by the press even worse than Trump is today, if that’s possible...

Your a lib troll aren’t you.

Thats the kind of 8 year old attempt at snark I see on twitter from leftist

tools. I feel sorry for your type who have nothing to contribute.

I’m defending Trump, and you’re calling me a “lib troll”?

I’ll wager if your were a Trump “Advisor,” you’d be instructing him to “moderate his tone” for fear of making the Left mad at us.

Like I said, if you can do a better job than Trump, you run for POTUS. Truth is, you wouldn’t last a day in Trump’s shoes.

The Left loves linguini spines like yourself; it makes their work so much easier.

Notwithstanding Trump’s real message, he has a problem. This is the problem with Trump: He speaks extemporaneously; he gets big crowd responses which eggs him on; he has a sarcastic and flip way of speaking; he often employs ‘tongue-in-cheek’ statements....etc. All this gives ammo to the media to twist and turn against him with their editing and sound bites. The primaries are over. Trump needs to get a bit more formal and purposeful in his speaking to counter this. Now.

Trump won’t drive us away with his way of speaking (we actually like it), but he will drive away the namby pambys who otherwise might consider voting for him. Unless there is truly a landslide, where the shear volume of votes makes stealing the election impossible, we are going to need every vote we can get.

Not for nothing, but it’s “you’re” not “your”. You’re is a contraction for “you are”.

Your is possessive, as in “what is your name”.

JFK ran against Johnson in the Democrat Primary in 1960, and it was a knock-down, drag-out brawl. The “unity” trick, with JFK putting Johnson on as VP, covered up the bruises and lacerations from the public, but the infighting still went on between Johnson and LBJ.

It was significant that it was in TEXAS that JFK was assassinated. The full story on that was never made public, but there were distinct parallels between the confrontation between Julius Caesar and Brutus in the Roman Forum. Johnson was just a lot more circumspect than Brutus.

Barry Goldwater may well be the most conservative/constitutionalist person to run for President (so far) in my lifetime. It's hard to compare ... 52 years from '64 to '16 is a long time and these United States have changed so much.

Oh shut the hell up! Trump has the right to say anything he wishes to say and if stupid lame brains get bent out of shape because the media gets bent out of shape it’s time to wake up and stop believing the “angle” the media puts on everything he says. !!!!!!!!!!! SOME people agree with what he says!

But he is the one who delivered those exquisite lines of English prose, regardless of who wrote it. Didn’t Buchanan also write for Reagan or Bush-41? None of them were as eloquent as Agnew.

What is it they say in Hollywood, there is no bad publicity? Just keep him in the headlines for free media coverage.
