A militant splinter group on the French island of Corsica has warned Islamic State that they will fight back if the terrorist group carries out an attack there,
..The FLNC said in statement sent to Corse Matin [Corsica Morning], a local newspaper, that any terrorist acts carried out on Corsican soil would prompt “a determined response without any qualms,” while adding that the French government would be largely to blame if such an attack were to take place.
“The aim of the Salafists is clearly to install Isis policies here and we are prepared for it,” the group said.
“Your medieval philosophy does not frighten us,” they added, urging “calm in the face of barbarity” and calling on all “Muslims of Corsica” to reject radical Islam and inform the authorities about anyone who may be radicalized.
“If Islamic States takes actions on our soil, we will manage to defeat them only together” the group said.
The group also said that the French authorities would be guilty of not protecting the island enough, should an attack take place.
“If a tragedy were to happen it [the French government] would bear substantial share of responsibility because it knows who the radicals Islamists are in Corsica,” their statement read. They also urged the French government to cease their involvement in military interventions, so that they “don’t boomerang on its soil.”
IS militants have tried to target Corsica, but the group managed to thwart their plan, the Corsican militants claimed, though neither the French authorities nor police have reported that such an attack had been foiled.
Tensions have been running high in Corsica over the past several months.
In April, a Muslim prayer hall was burnt to the ground and Corsica was engulfed by anti-Arab demonstrations last Christmas in which local police were ambushed and attacked by protesters.

Organized crime like cosa nostra grew out of disenfanchisement with local law enforcement that was itself corrupt.
and the encroachment of muslims.
Between Napoleon and the fictional “THE CORSICAN BROTHERS”, the Muzzies AND the French government need to look out!
I’m not directing this to you, but I never understood the admiration for Napoleon. He left Frenchmen to die in Egypt, and in Russia, and in Spain, and at Waterloo, etc.
Why there are monuments to his memory is a mystery to me.
“Why there are monuments to his memory is a mystery to me.”
Because he is the last French general to actually win a war?
Well, there was the Battle of Verdun (1916). The French army distinguished itself at Verdun beyond question. If Napoleon had such determined soldiers at Waterloo, perhaps he would have won.
At any rate, do such Frenchmen exist today?
Legionares I had the pleasure of working with in the middle east were bad ass hard corp troops. But were composed of a mix of foreigners and very few frenchmen.
Regular french forces ....meh.
That's why it's called the Foreign Legion.
Good for the FLNC!
He was much more than that - a leader who was loved till the end, masterful tactician, artillery genius and more.
His luch ran out finally and he met his match in Wellington though one might argue his illustrious career ended after the retreat from Moscow.
Corsican OC guys sure don’t mind killing each other
Napolean was a master of the terrain and a fairly classical liberal political leader considering
He is not considered important by military historians for nothing .....His ethnicity is beside the point
He could be Latvian or Bolivian
He was hell on wheels and the monarchs of Europe feared him for good reason
And what he rose from....incredible
The Corsicans will water the soil with Muslim blood. And they won’t even try to sort them out.
No taqqiya allowed there.
Wow, a part of France you do not hear much of.
There us also a strong French Foreign Legion presence on Corsica as well.
Corsica is like France’s Sicily.
