Openly Gay Delegate Makes Impassioned Plea to Soften GOP Stance On Gay Marriage [RNC Convention]

CLEVELAND— An impassioned plea by a gay Republican delegate for the party to soften its stance on same-sex marriage failed to sway enough of her colleagues on the Platform Committee, which met Monday a week ahead of the convention to hammer out a statement of the GOP’s core principles.

District of Columbia delegate Rachel Hoff identified herself as the “first openly gay member on the Republican Platform Committee” and struggled to hold back tears as she pleaded with her fellow colleagues to accept a more neutral position on gay marriage...

I wonder when we'll see stories of the "proud, openly gun owning" members of the Democrat Party Platform committee "holding back tears" as they "plea" with their fellow Dems to "soften" their vehemently anti-gun views, only to see those concerns fall on deaf ears...

"My name's Jake Smith... I've been a Democrat since I was old enough to vote for Truman back in '48, and I'm a proud gun owner. I didn't ever think I'd be one, I just discovered at age 14 that I liked guns and I've been owning them ever since. Its very painful knowing my party's bigotry and intolerance of 2nd amendment rights means they're against my right to live my life as I see fit. My wife and I have gone on hunting trips together for nearly 50 years but today's Democrat Party uses street gang murders as an excuse to criminalize peaceful people like me. When will the Dems get with the times with accept that gun owners exist and we deserve to be respected and tolerated?"

EXCLUSIVE: A LOOK INSIDE THE DEMOCRAT PARTY'S HATRED OF GUN OWNERS

Kyle Johnson (right) and Paul Lopez (left) talk about the discrimination they face from other Democrats for being openly pro-gun. The duo met in second grade and have been best friends and hunting partners since junior high school.

HARRISBURG, GA - "Gun owners exist. Get over it!" summerized Paul Lopez, after he was publicly booed for exercising his conceal-carry rights and bringing a gun with him at an annual Democrat Party fundraiser in Atlanta, Georgia. His best friend of 25 years, Kyle Johnson, agreed. "We can't say we're a big tent party and at the same time exclude people like me just because my lifestyle makes you uncomfortable. If you don't like guns, don't own one", he noted.

Polls have consistently shown that more and more Americans are embracing gun rights in the 21st century, yet top Democrat Party officials stubbornly refuse to budge from the party's antiquated, cold war era, staunch anti-gun rhetoric. What will be the breaking point? A poll last year indicated the Democrats are alienating millions of potential voters that might otherwise be inclined to vote Democrat, as fully 61% of Democrats now say they either own guns or have a close friend or family member that does. Democrats in Washington, meanwhile, are moving backwards at lightning speed.

Two weeks ago, Congressional Democrat leader Nancy Pelosi refused to even shake hands with a party official who was endorsed by the NRA, highlighting just how rabidly anti-gun top Democrat officials are....

This is the reality: When I was a medical student in 1974-76, a lot of 32-week babies died. Currently, most 28-weekers survive undamaged, the damage rates rise from 27 down to 24 weeks, a few (very few) 22 and 23 weekers survive, almost all with significant limitations, and somewhere around 22 weeks is a hard floor for survival that current knowledge/technology cannot pierce.

God’s plan for development in the womb is miraculous. We’ve learned to support babies who are missing only the last two months (32 weeks plus, mostly growth in a safe place). We’ve learned to protect little lungs that need help to breathe (26-32 weeks).

But a twenty week baby who is unfortunately born at that time cannot live (for long) without its mother’s complex and miraculously fitted life support system, and that’s not going to get better any time soon, if ever.

Thank you for the information Jim.

I was pondering where I got the 20 Week figure from. I believe it was the number used in the Fetal Pain Legislation.

As I told a Lib on a Comments Board a while back, if we were talking about Planned Parenthood Aborting Late Term Golden Retriever Puppies in the Womb, tearing them apart limb by limb, the Liberals would be burning the Planned Parenthood Buildings to the ground while marching around with Dog Lives Matter Signs.

What in the hell is a “neutral” stance on marriage parodying?

Just pouring sand in the gears of the cultural Marxists would be justification enough. Silence and inaction enable the enemy.
