In multiple speeches, interviews, and congressional hearings that followed, U.S. officials defended the accord, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), by hailing its intrusive inspections regime, pledging to continue sanctioning Iran for non-nuclear misbehavior, and asserting that the deal may spur the regime to moderate its policies. It has been fairly obvious all along that this agreement does the precise opposite of what it purports to do. No meaningful inspections (only Iranian inspectors and no inspections of military installations...).
But we agree to shield them from any attack by a third party (such as Israel).
Which means that, in plain language, we have agreed, not to restrict their nuclear program, but to allow it, defend it, and pay for it.
They give up nothing in return for this agreement on our part, but have said that if we don’t keep the agreement, its war.
That’s what the agreement does. We allow them to continue, we agree to defend them, and we pay for it, or else. Anything our government has said to the contrary was a lie, of course.

Exactly. And there is good evidence that this was planned before Obama was ever elected.
It was consistent lies from the very beginning to subver the will of the American people and undermine the defense of the country. Treason. Pure and Simple. Treason.
But the old media applauds it, through a combination of ignorance, complicity, fear, and ideology. Same for members of the Republican leadership.
They should all be thrown out of office and worse.
