Donald Trump tweeted a blatantly anti-Semitic image Saturday morning, causing an immediate backlash online and further confirming the Republican nominee is willing to sink to depths well beyond usual, acceptable bounds of politics.
The tweet, posted at roughly 8:30 a.m., featured a picture of Hillary Clinton pasted over a backdrop of $100 bills with a six-pointed star — the Jewish Star of David — next to her face.
“Most Corrupt Candidate Ever!” the star read.

This is not a dog whistle. It’s not subtle. It is anti-Semitic imagery aimed at a candidate who isn’t even Jewish.

He changed it on his tweeter feed or the story is BS. He posted the six-pointed, tilted star at 0637, according to Google's cache. The, apparently, he deleted that tweet and, at 0819, he reposted it with a red circle replacing the star.

Whoever put together Trump’s graphic should be fired. That's no Star of David. It's red, solid, and tilted. As others have pointed out, it is a sheriff's star shape, not a Star of David.
According to the dictionary, a Star of David is "a six-pointed figure consisting of two interlaced equilateral triangles, used as a Jewish and Israeli symbol." This is a Star of David:
