Why was the Ambassador in Benghazi on 9/11? If we find that out ,we will understand the desperation of administration lies that followed and why no help was sent. It must be a bomb shell because the committee completely ignored this central issue with great pains taken to do so.
You know?
when I heard Trey Gowdy’s name I used to be like a high-school girl.
but now I just don’t feel the same.
we still have no official account of what they were doing in Benghazi, none.
Also such Ultra simple questions as the president’s physical location after 5 p.m. DC time, we have no idea.
still.
High? Humping Reggie?
the country still has no idea.
Trey Whatshisface is a huge, establishment phony Republican. I’m ashamed of him.
I’m starting to agree with you.
Getting ready to flex my second amendment soon.
Evidently none of you have even listened to the press conference yourselves, or read the report. Grow up, don’t take anyone’s word for it, read it yourselves. Certainly don’t pretend that you know what you are talking about if you have not done that.
Yawn yesterday’s news and nothing became of it! Benghazi is the story of gun running approved by obummer, illary and the Rep CONgress.
What was the reason for Stevens going almost alone to Benghazi on 9/11 from your in depth study of the report? Tell us.
Another nothing sandwich.
Believe there is more significant news to come out regarding this hamstrung report. The reasons for Gowdy’s change of confidence in his abilities to see this assignment through will come out, Lord willing.
Meantime, I’ve stopped slandering a decent American, my elected House Representative, because I didn’t like what ended up happening on this committee and because of his perplexing position on immigration. Freepers might be wise to ease up on him also, in lieu of waiting for the real reasons to be revealed and thus avoid making more (erroneous) conjectures.

I don't think Goudy's Over-site Committee ever had the power to subpoena. Barack Obama is the last word on Benghazi and if he acted outside the law or our Constitution, Hillary should have had the courage to walk. However, Ms. Clinton is all about power NOT the American People and the entire State department was in bed with the horrible ruse that followed the terrorist attack....Clinton, her SD and Obama and his advisors had had plenty of time to save the lives of Stevens, Smith, Woods, and Doherty.
Hillary is a tyrant in a pant suit and has been all her adult life.
Gowdy couldn’t find his backside with both hands and a flashlight.
Sorry, but he's a disgrace. To have spent all those millions on this criminal Sec of State and to not have come up with an indictment shows what a total ass he and the committee turned into. I'm ashamed of him.
4:21 pm at the White House Situation Room meeting, prior to the White House 5pm meeting is a logical time the order could have been given, if not even prior to that,
but the Secretary(Panetta) knows of 'word of the attack' before he left the pentagon to attend the 5pm meeting according to this report, and only acknowledges 'guidance' as opposed to getting an order.
4:21 pm / 10:21 pm The White House Situation Room convenes a meeting.
After seeking refuge, one of the agents in Villa B then contacted the TOC in Tripoli and the other agent contacted the State Departments Diplomatic Security Command Center[DSCC] in Washington D.C. at 9:49 p.m. Benghazi time[3:49 p.m. in Washington, DC].
Although the Embassy in Tripoli and the Diplomatic Command Center at the State Department in Washington received word almost immediately that the Benghazi Mission compound was under attack, that notice did not make its way to the National Military Command Center, the operations center at the Pentagon, until 4:32 p.m. local time in Washington D.C.
Just minutes after word of the attack reached the Secretary, he and General Martin E.Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, departed the Pentagon to attend a previously scheduled 5:00 p.m. meeting at the White House with President Obama and National Security Advisor Thomas E. Donilon. The Secretary recalled two details about the attack on the U.S. facility in Benghazi: a building was on fire and Stevens was missing. As the Secretary and Dempsey briefed the President on the evolving situation in Benghazi, Libya, the Secretary recalls the following guidance: The President made clear that we ought to use all of the resources at our disposal to try to make sure we did everything possible to try to save lives there.
I think everyone is directing their ire at the wrong person/people. After listening to the full press conference, I would say that neither Trey Gowdy nor anyone else that spoke can be accused of being weak or ineffectual. They all came on strong and placed blame squarely on Obama and Clinton for lack of preparation, foolish policy, and the most scandalous politically motivated cover up weeks before the 2012 election.
Then, at the end, when the press asked whether it was a big waste of taxpayer money for no new findings, Gowdy’s rebuttal was clear, angry and strong.
The fact that all of the news networks carried only the left’s spin and Clinton’s smug urging that “it’s time to move on” is not Gowdy’s fault, or the fault of the others on the committee.
After a damning and conclusive committee report, congressional leadership must pick up the ball and move for special prosecutors or impeachment proceedings if anything is to come of this. That is not happening, has not happened for two years and shame on congressional leadership for that, but to blame the members of this committee is insane. I listened to the press conference - these are good people trying to bring these evil sleazebags to justice - and they’ve been trying for literally years. They can only do so much if congressional leaders won’t do their part.
Anyway, that’s my take after listening to the press conference.
