Eight Senate Republicans joined with 44 Democrats on a Republican-proposed compromise that would deny people on two different federal watch lists the ability to buy weapons unless they could successfully appeal that decision. Several other Republican senators showed some willingness to accept new restrictions on gun purchases if they could be structured in an acceptable way. A bipartisan companion measure also was introduced in the House.

Linda Graham, the Republican turned Democrat, joining with lunatic Susan Collins and who are the others?
There has always been at least 8 RINOS in the Senate, NYT!
Let’s confiscate their guns and with friends like them, we don’t need enemies.
On twitter this morning, the NRA is spending 2 million dollars for an ad with them and Trump...don’t think Trump has to worry about anything...he’s on his way to the Oval Office!!!
From your lips to God’s ears! Latest poll shows a dead heat and he is just starting to carve into her carcass.
Wishful thinking by the NYT. Surely they aren’t stupid enough to miss this tried and true strategy to get squishy Pubbies on record voting to “do something” on gun control - when that “something” doesn’t have enough votes to pass. Turtlehead McConnell may be a jerk off, but he wouldn’t be majority leader if he didn’t know how to count votes. This is for the benefit of Pubbie senators from purple states who need a figleaf. It’s called a free vote.
On our end, the anxiety comes from so many earlier betrayals.
Soon to be on the watch list, all those HS deems as a threat to the USA - Christians, Patriots, Retired Military..
What part of “Shall NOT Be Infringed” do these rubes not understand?
Some way, some how, we have GOT to get EVERY person in Congress - and their staff - on a no-fly list. I cannot think of anyone so dangerous to the safety and well-being of the republic.
“What part of Shall NOT Be Infringed do these rubes not understand?”
Same part of “Shall Make No Law”
You CAN bet that a civilian can not buy an AK-47 in Istanbul nor is it legal to wear a suicide vest and blow it up at an airport...how did that work out for the 50 people blown up in a terror attack? hmmmmmmmmm?
Kirk & Ayotte are siding with gun grabbers
Giving up civil rights with no due process is a mistake. Creating secret government lists to deny civil rights is a mistake.
I guess no one even considered the power that men and women will now have over their spouses in divorce settlements. Let’s just take the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard divorce as it’s a high profile one. She has accused him of domestic violence. Is it real or is it just manipulative? I see this cutting both ways. But hey, let’s feel good about ourselves as we can now say we’ve done something to curb ‘gun violence’. Will Johnny Depp be prohibited from buying a gun now? (yes, I know it’s a rhetorical question, as celebrities can do anything they want because they support the Left in this country and his bodyguards are sure to have guns anyway)
Remember Jack Ryan? The guy who was beating Obama handily in the Illinois Senate race in 2004? Obama got a Leftist judge to open Ryan’s sealed divorce records where his wife, the actress Jeri Ryan, had claimed he wanted her to go to a club and watch men and women having sex. The Republican Party of Illinois dropped Ryan like a hot potato and then couldn’t find anyone of substance to run against Obama.....that’s when Obama got his foot in the door. And when asked if the statement was true, Jeri Ryan said ‘you say a lot of things when you are trying to get custody of your children’. This newest restriction of our right to bear arms will come to a bad end. I just hope it’s not our side who will suffer.
Bump
What’s the point in voting Republican, anymore?
They’re just a bunch of lying, self-interested globalists.
Didn’t Hawaii just put all gun owners on a federal watch list ?
You mean Seven-of-Nine is responsible for the community organizer, closet muslim in the white hut?
I’ll never see Star Trek Voyager in the same light again.
Flush these turds.
