RIP Randy California.
Yes they did.
Led Zeppelin
Best cover band eva!!!
Now, we need to get the world to ban the playing of Stairway to Heaven.
They played a piece from some classical 1600 concerto this morning on a local radio station Sounded identical to the intro to Stairway to Heaven.
I listened to both intros to each sone, and they don’t even remotely sound alike.
Someone on the jury must have been a plant.
I sure miss Milli Vanilli...
Sting lifts whole pages of classic poetry, sets it to music and makes a killing!
Oh Yeah! Let’s hear The (real) Immigrant Song!
*GROAN* ;)
I always preferred “Stairway to Freebird” myself.
If it’s plagiarism, then they both ripped off the 17th Century Composition titled “Sonata di Chittarra, e Violino, con il suo Basso Continuo” by Giovanni Battista Granata.

Robert?
Led Zeppelin—exceptional talent put together and using the best strengths of every member. The best.
Vanilla Ice is pissed!
It may have not been ripped off from Spirit but their is a medeival song that sounds EXACTLY like it. Of course that’s no longer copyright protected so it’s fair use.
But yeah, their first album is entirely covers, same as the Stones.
Post of the year.
