Three people were arrested with multiple loaded guns, rifles and ballistic vests at the Holland Tunnel Tuesday when police stopped them for driving with a cracked windshield, authorities tell NBC 4 New York.
The three individuals, two men in their 50s and a woman in her 20s who may be from Pennsylvania, were stopped on the New Jersey side of the tunnel around 8 a.m., authorities said. A search of their vehicle revealed the weapons cache.
The guns seized included long-range weapons as well as handguns. A camouflage helmet with what appeared to be night goggles was also recovered.
Heh....OTC Advil is "a drug of choice" in NJ. Sorry, I don't trust NJ/MD/NY cops, and especially FBI/DEA/ATF further than I can throw them.
The 50 cal bottle opener must have been included to show how they modified rounds...

Look at the picture, one magazine is singled out on a piece of paper reading “plain ...”
I’d bet the paper says “plain sight”.
A magazine in “plain sight” would definitely invite a high degree of scrutiny in NY.
And honestly, a vehicle that has two 50 year olds in it? I'd be shocked if there weren't any form of drugs in the car, and given the display, it would not surprise me if they were valid prescription drugs, especially with the ‘Heroine Dealer’ sticker on the ammo can.
There have been 3 gun shops robbed in central PA in the last week. Guns, ammo and surveillance video machines taken from each. Hoping this is just drug traffic stuff. But, then again, how many refugees are coming?
The article is pretty vague. But before they were arrested they were stopped legitimately and even innocent things can go downhill from there. Doesn't say LE had a dog but the search revealed drugs and that may have been the basis for the out-of-state surveillance, or perhaps that many weapons were just not secured and visible to LE.
LE who talked to the press acted as though they did not know the home location of the suspects (or didn't want to disclose that info) and thus it is possible that one or all of the suspects may have been without ID.
Anywhere within 50 miles of Detroit MI is also a bad idea.
So get your windshield fixed.

Not particularly. A shotgun, a semi-auto rifle and a few handguns. That looks like a light day at the range for a lot of guys.
The NVGs and Body Armor are odd, and good to know about after the stop has taken place for other reasons.
Wrong thinking. The second amendment is all the authorization they need.
If you should not be authorized to be armed, you should not be running around loose.

Could have been a K-9 unit was at the stop and sniffed the drugs. No consent required for reasonable suspicion sweep of vehicle exterior with K-9. K-9 alerts = immediate probable cause for search entire vehicle, no consent required.
By default, we are all “authorized” to own guns.
But I’m wondering if these people we specifically un-authorized to own them. Some people are not allowed to own guns.
