EXMNA The request included a picture of the Ex-Muslims of North America (EXMNA) name and logo, with a caption of Congratulations on 3 years!, but was refused by an associate from the Fairfax branch of the popular chain, stating that the request was offensive.
EXMNA representatives called Wegmans bakery to clarify, and were refused again, with no explanation on why the logo, name, and caption was considered offensive. After conferring with management, the Wegmans employee stated that her boss(es) would not change their stance on the issue. The associate further added that the store had Muslim workers, my employees may not know what this stands for, Ex-Muslims of North America, and I dont have enough time and people to educate them on what it is, and although they were not sure if the employees would be offended, they cant put them in that situation.
EXMNA representatives reached out to the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), a nationwide nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the constitutional separation of state and church, who agreed that the actions of Wegmans employees were unlawful and discriminatory. Refusing to provide services to a group on the basis of their religion or lack of a religion is a clear violation of federal, state, and local civil rights lawsone we hope the company will move quickly to correct, said FFRF constitutional attorney Andrew L. Seidel. On behalf of EXMNA, FFRF is asking Wegmans to fulfill the original order without charge and educate its employees on their duty to serve patrons without discrimination.
After this story hit the internet, many outraged customers vented their dissatisfaction in the direction of Wegmans Twitter page which resulted in an apology.

To Muslims, apostates (those who leave the faith) can be punished by death, so any group that proudly displays their ability to escape their subjugation to the terror cult must be shut down. In other words, Wegman’s is refusing a symbol of Freedom, because the slavers might get mad. THIS is how backwards modern “Progressivism” has made things.
Wegmans is so people friendly I am sure they, like me, did not understand the meaning...
I understand their statement that they did not have people to teach the staff either.
Plain Brown Wrapper, this is a 24 hour store so no down time to do it either!!
Someone should notify the Ex-Homosexual Muslim Association.
Seems Ex-Muslims should have the same rights as muslims. Cleary a case of discrimination.
That whole area of VA has become a hell hole. I have relatives there. The once nice neighborhood they lived in is now infested with MS-13. They moved into a condo a while back and are buying another house but I don’t know where. They’re in Sterling.
Wegmans was started here in NY...around the corner from me. I'm a realist and go to the less expensive stores like IGA and Aldi.
(When someone wants to congratulate other on surviving a death sentence for 3 years, and others find this "offensive", something is very very wrong.
Brave ex-Muslims!
Every muslim Obama brings here should have Christians regularly get to them. They need to be told to seek the Truth. We should do everything we can to convert them.
This isn’t how Obama wants it to turn out.
Shouldn’t they just bake the cake? Or is that too gay?
Sue the bakery out of existence?
EXMNA would not even be known to most people. If Wegmans is so people friendly, they should be friendly to everyone.
They’re just being good dhimmis...
And so. Take the business to one of those Christian places that won’t make “gay wedding cakes.” Don’t mess around with Wegman’s.
Back in the day I would have said this was good satire. I imagine this is true which is pretty sad.
If I’m an ex-Muslim I’d research whether Muslims work there because the last thing I’d want is my cake having a fatwa on it!
Pray to the Lord Jesus for the skill and the setting and the opportunity.
The approach we might gin up in our flesh may not be the one that the good Lord opens doors for.
Ex-Muz themselves may know the most about this and should be given a good audience by all Christians.
Polyunsaturated fatwas.
