Obama Warns of Underwater Manhattan Without Climate Change Action
1:02 PM, Jun 09, 2016 | By Chris Deaton
President Obama warned of a submerged Manhattan without efforts to combat climate change during a fundraiser in New York City Wednesday night.
"[T]he majority of people believe in things like science -- and scientists," an official transcript of his remarks reads. "And so when scientists tell us that the planet is getting warmer and we need to do something about it, the majority of people think that's a good idea, let's do something about that, because we don't want Manhattan to be underwater."
Multiple organizations have sounded the alarm in recent years that rising sea levels will affect coastal cities worldwide. Based on U.S. Geological Survey and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration data, The New York Times estimated that a five-foot increase, listed as "probable" in 100 to 300 years, would cause 7 percent of New York City to be flooded. The East River "starts to eat away at La Guardia Airport" at that point, the Times's map predicts.

When I was in grade school, they warned us that:
1. There would be no more oil by 1980.
2. Women would not be able to breastfeed their babies by 1980 because their milk would have too many pollutants and it would kill the babies.
3. By 1980, everyone would have to live within 100 miles of the equator because pollution was going to freeze the world.
To any of my grade school teachers who are still alive, thanks for the misinformation.
I was going to say, that’s rather more a reward for us than a punishment, wouldn’t you think?
NYC needs a good washing and scrubbing...
So ... where’s the down side ?
“Unicorns are threatened with extinction and rainbows will disappear forever if you don’t elect Dhimmicrats!!”
Global warming is nothing but leftist agitprop trolling for a world-wide carbon tax.
Won't this make all those anti-Wall Street lefty socialists happy?
I don’t “Believe” in science because it’s either proven and subject to verification or it’s not.
And I don’t believe in scientists because they’re too political.
So on the list of top 20 concerns for voters, how come this is nearly at the bottom of the list. Guess we be’s 2 stoopid to “get it”. Not only is it near the bottom, the percentage is miniscule. Can’t remember where the chart is that I saw that on.
The point of science is that you DON’T believe in it! You test it over and over to make sure it’s right.
0bama's trip to the bookstore while on one of his many vacations.
yeah, the public urination issue would be a moot point.
We must have been unsuccessfully brainwashed by the same hive-mind. Mine told me that, in my lifetime:
The world’s oceans would be the major suppliers of food.
The forests were being destroyed and would not be replaced.
Due to world-wide overpopulation, there would be severe food shortages leading to regional wars and perhaps a global one.
There aren’t any scientists who think New York is under water.
What fabricated lies in the face of actual cooling of the Earth . This is a vehicle to take your stuff and dumb you down to an existence comparable to that in Mali west Africa. So called “Scientists” are confronted with having the federal grants cut off or joining in the lie. They have no supporting data that is not corrupted such as putting temperature gauges over black top surfaces. The entire scam is a blatant lie.
What’s not to like?New York May at least be a little cleaner.
Just close the place now and move inland 12 feet. That gives you 600 years. What a joke.
Now we know why SoS Kerry-Heinz is selling the Nantucket ocean front changing hut.
It doesn’t fit the narrative.
Even if true does it matter?
Buildings in Manhattan are replaced with shocking frequency.
And if a 20-story building loses a floor, there will be 19 floors left to live in, work in and rent out come 2050 or 2060 or whenever.
It seems that my 8th grade earf science teacher espoused some of the same idiocy.
