GOP aghast as Trump doubles down (hand-wringing "leaders")
thehill.com ^ | 6/6/16 | Alexander Bolton

“If somebody in Washington is holding their breath, waiting to give their endorsement on an apology, they’re going to be waiting a long time,” he said. “There are so many people in this country who are just sick and tired of our elected officials being apologetic for everything.”

When Trump spoke to the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference last month, it sparked hope among Washington Republicans of a long-awaited pivot to the general election and a more presidential demeanor.

Those hopes, however, were dashed by Trump’s assertion last week that U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is presiding over civil suits against Trump University, has “an inherent conflict of interest” because of Trump’s plan to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Curiel was born in Indiana to Mexican immigrants.

“I don’t think anyone is working on a strategy of how to engage Latino voters, and from what I see there is no serious analysis or assessment of the impact Mr. Trump’s comments are having on the Latino electorate,” Alfonso Aguilar, president of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, said of his “limited contact” with Trump’s advisers.

“This is not rocket science. Just not talking is not that difficult, but he doubles down and triples down on these comments,” he said.

The republican establishment has NO stomach for battling the left!

Trump, who admires men like George Patton, isn't likely to shrink from a fight.

On the other hand, those that admire men like Mitt Romney, will retreat every time.

Trump knows the Hispanic-American community is not monolithic. He is going to separate the true blue Americans from the La Raza radicals...and he is using the La Raza judge to do it.

Think back. Trump always carefully thinks through issues that only seem like off the cuff remarks.

He has a strategy and it is being implemented piece by piece. And it is working.

WELL said!

It is way past time to tell these politically correct, apologize-for-the-sunrise weak sisters that they need to get a grip on themselves and deal with REALITY!

The critical questions:

Is that La Raza thug in a black robe (Curiel) predisposed against Trump and by extension Trump University in the applicable lawsuit?

Is Curiel a La Raza sympathizer?

The answers: *YES* TO BOTH!!

He should either recuse himself now, or recognize that his failure to do so will provide more than ample justification for an appeal.

I can barely watch any talking head......except a few like Dobbs, Varney, Hannity.....

The remainder are antiTrump 24/7 .......pouncing on every word or hiccup from the man.

It’s tiresome for me, and I’m sure it’s tiresome for Mr. Trump!!!!

Trump is th most lively and sharpest candidate we’ve had come down the political pipeline in ages.
He keeps them all on their toes.
Even O’Reilly was making nice last night!
Trump makes me smile.....and laugh!

My only heartburn is he isn’t explaining what La Raza is and how the Reconquista movement is at it’s core. It is time to bring back the House Committee on Unamerican Activities, but at this point that is an oxymoron given their behavior the last 30 years or so...

As we enter week 2 of the media’s collective obsession over Trump’s criticism of the La Raza judge...

And the brief news cycle of the State Dept IG’s report showing the lying bitch kept an illegal email server, stored classified information on it and has been lying about it for a year? “Old news” - down the memory hole!

It’s a measure of how far we’ve fallen as a nation that Trump’s demonstration of spine is a shock to so many.

Trump was exactly correct in questioning the judges neutrality in the case.
What he failed to do is explain in detail why.

Had he mentioned the judges affiliation with La Raza and what the organization stands for I think there would be zero controversy.
Actually , I’ll bet the MSM would be trying to sweep the whole incident under the rug.

Trump is going to let this simmer for a while and then he is going to hold a news conference laying out some facts, like these:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3437615/posts

Once again the media is so obsessed with being PC they are either ignoring the facts or are not interested in them. Just like the "money for vets", story when Trump needs a boost he is going to gather all the clowns in the lobby and lay out the facts. They he is going to tell them what sleazy liars they are. Then he is going to go up another 5 points in the polls.

The man is brilliant. They have no idea who they are dealing with.

First, if memory serves Mr. Trump said the judge “...is of Mexican heritage” not Mexican...so he did not negate the fact that he is an American as the talking heads would have one think. Second...that judge DOES have a potential for bias against Mr. Trump and cannot be neutral. I am sick and tired of the Republican party (of which i will proudly no longer be a member after this election) not standing up for Mr. Trump!! He is the only one with a set and will do a great job of restoring this country back to its potential and beyond. Very disappointed in Newt Gingrich.

I wish Trump would use that exact phrase — “the La Raza judge”.

If I don’t know better, this could be a scheme to make Trump more popular.

But, alas, these leaders are THIS clueless.

Excellent comment. How can one assimilate and be an American and belong to La Raza with allegiance to Mexico? If someone one wants to be Mexican first, move to Mexico.

Which is it, is be paid alienating all Hispanics or can a Hispanic judge not be predisposed to hate Trump as we’ve been told?I think it’s funny that the media are spending weeks telling us now that just because someone is of Mexican decent doesn’t mean he is against Trump. Seems like a nation wide ad buy by Trump

This kind of stuff is going to dog Trump from now until he is defeated or leaves office. His corporations and trusts may survive, but personally, he’ll be lucky to have two nickels to rub together when all is said and done.
