Newt Gingrich exemplifies why he sat on the park Bench with Nancy Pelosi promoting carbon taxes and global warming. Democrat pundit Chris Wallace seems awfully giddy to have a compatriot on the chat...

When I watched this video, I wondered if Newt went totally establishment on Trump. Is he in it for the gravy train? I heard Sarah Huckabee do an interview and was asked the same questions Newt was and she did an outstanding job of explaining Trump's position. What a difference.

This Newt interview tells me he will not be the VP choice for sure and he definitely is in it for the gravy train first.

THe comments by Trump sound ridiculus.....until you realize this is the exact same set of ideas pushed by blacks, hispanics, and muslims.

Sarah Huckabee does a great job defending Trump.

He jsut cost himself any chance for the VP slot.

Donald was right and a contender for VP should be at least as loyal as shithead biden is.

Newt sure lost it. No chance for VP and was happy that his true colors is beginning to show.

I was surprised there wasn’t more chin music about this yesterday after the interview.

Newt stepped on his own junk trying to be a "statesman".

I still really like the guy but he's a strap-hanger instead of being solidly on-board...

There for a time, Newt rode better than anyone.

But, after too much time in the saddle, he was thrown hard in his last rodeo and it changed him. He's never been the same since.

His ridding days are over and his glory long past, but in his recovery he's been granted the role of elder statesman.

It's just a shame he still has that limp.

Knowing he is mooted about as a possible VP, he still says what he thinks. I have an idea he’d say the same thing to Trump face to face. He mostly agrees with Trump but doesn’t mind saying when he doesn’t.

Trump no doubt has lots of yes-men, but I suspect he likes having someone like Newt in his circle who isn’t afraid to say what he thinks. Newt is too old to be VP, he really has nothing at this stage to lose. He’d make a good chief of staff for just that reason.

Newt is using that event as a cleansing opportunity, to signal to the right people that, although he is supporting Trump, his heart is still in the right place.

This interview with Newt is exactly why Trump will expose everyone who holds to a Politically Correct view in this country. Did anyone see the followups on other Trump interviews where they kept asking him if they thought his comments and position was racist against this liberal la raza(sp) judge?

Gingrich does have a “shoot from the lip” problem. Combining that with Trump’s flamboyant speech, and it would be too much for one team. I’m not unhappy that he’s probably off the VP short list.

Newt was never a good idea for Veep. His constituency overlaps heavily with Trump’s, bringing in few new voters. Plus, Newt has, to hear socons tell it, baggage that would make a porter weep.

Newt for chief of staff, if this interview didn’t blow that out of the water.

I heard Trump this morning say Newt’s comments were very inappropriate. I should have known it was a matter of time before Newt would cave. There’s really no way Trump and Newt would make it 4 years in the Trump administration, much less 8. Newt choked up against Mitt and Mitt choked against Obama. Tells us all we need to know, I’m afraid. Trump has to have someone loyal, someone like Manafort or Lewandowsky, but a politician. Tough one.

Newt likes his gravy. In order to have gravy he needs to shine everybody’s shoes. This is a great process. Newt shows which way he swings. He is out.
